Changing name by serving ban?

Hi

I got a warrior which I used to play, but which I'm not playing anymore because I disgust the name (yh, thats something I care about)
So I want to play this char again, without the stupid name
My friend told me I could change my name, by getting at least 10 people to report me for my name, then I need to serve some ban for 2days and then I need to change the name of this char.
Is this true, or does my char just get deleted? Or isnt there any ban/report for that sort of things..

Only if your charr name is inappropriate. So no Hello Kitty wont get you banned.

when a name is reported, the Anet people have a look at it, if they find it inappropriat, then you can change your name, if not, you can't

I don't think /report will get the job done. I believe you are stuck with the name.

Unless it has something really important, like elite armor or rare customized weapons, just delete it and start over.

If support reviews it and finds the name inappropriate, you'll get the temp ban and a chance to change it. On the flip side, you're finds have also abused the report system and wasted someone's time, so they might incur some wrath.
