-the numbers in the brackets are the post numbers in this thread; for easier reference)
- Tramp (21)
- Dr Imperial (28)
- Tyrael Eveningsong (155)
Each person won for a very different reason. One of the key criterias I decided to establish was a clear identity of the person who would be receiving the reward. If you didn't name names, I decided to not weigh the entry as heavily.
@ Tramp: Thanks for your passionate public (and private) appeal on the good nature of some people, and defending those who both need and deserve something. I'm glad that there are other well-off people who see that money is not everything, and that people deserve a share of the goodness that is out there.
@ Imp: Not only was I amused by your entry, I empathized with it. I've had a handful of friends in Guild Wars who have, through thick and thin, sane & insane, mature and childish, put up with me, my goals and everything else under the sun. I'd also like to thank you for your honesty; this is one of the things that helped reassure me that you are genuine in your intentions. I noticed that you kept track and edited your post with how many materials you needed for FoW armor.
@ Tyrael: You and I have a small history together! I believe I first met you on my secondary account; maybe you were buying Red Iris Flowers? Or something else of the sort. Anyways, like Massiva Impulsa mentioned, your entry is a good one. The value of true friends is not something that one can put a price on, yet it seems like we can never give or do enough to thank them. I'm so glad for you that you have these people in your life. You seem like a very gracious and humble person.
Breakdown of prizes:
~ approximately 475k/100e value (in cash, ecto, etc.) per finalist.
~ about another 500k total to certain non-finalists.
TOTAL PRIZES: about 2 million platinum.
@ Scarn, Haxor & Alexander Burn Victim: I'm thanking you each for your entries; had I not known you guys OR the person you were writing about, I may have selected you. I opted to be a bit more objective in my selections. I <3 Scarn, Jayne & Erin are amazing women, and I really adore Mystic Elentari. There may be something more private in store for you guys. <3333
To all others: I'm sorry that I couldn't pick all of you to win. If I had enough wealth to give everyone on the shortlist 100 ectos, I would. You are all quite inspiring people, and I'm glad that you have let others into your lives! Some of you may be receiving unexpected contact from me for prizes, even if your name is not listed as a finalist.
As for the person who tried to scam me out of 300e in my last big giveaway, you shouldn't have bothered entering this one... or any future ones.

Thanks to all who participated. I hope your Christmas was smashing, and I hope you all bring down tha house with a crazy and amazing new years celebration!!! I hope that 2009 brings you good fortune. ----------
ENTRIES ARE CLOSED. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANY NEW CONTENT. ANY EDITED ENTRIES PAST THIS POINT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
Normally I do monthly giveaways on GWG, but this month is special; it’s the holiday season, whatever that may mean to you. For the sake of my interests, this is a Christmas Giveaway. It won’t be a giveaway of a typical fashion, though.
The purpose of this giveaway is to celebrate people you respect, admire and have come to really like in the time you have played Guild Wars. Through giving thanks to someone special, a reward may be in store for you. This reward would be something you’d put on your “GW X-Mas List” and like a good Santa, if you’ve been nice, I just may grant it. I believe that a good measure of a person is to see how grateful and inspired they allow themselves to be by someone special.
In the spirit of giving, I aim to try and remind people of the good done for them by just having a friend. There’s too much cynicism and antagonism because of this anonymous little bubble we co-exist in. Let the Christmas spirit begin!
How will this work?
• The total value of rewards is 300 ecto. I have not yet decided if I will reward this to just one person. It may be split between 2 or 3 people, depending on how inspired I am.
• Your wish list may comprise of items adding up to 300e, or you may just request any number of ecto up to 300e.
• Following your wish-list (in the same post), tell me about someone special you have met in GW, and have made your time in GW better. You may do this in any number of ways, like a poem, story, or just a description of this person. The content may be whatever you wish… as long as you are telling me about this person and how they have changed/helped you!
Please meet these requirements:
• To avoid multiple entries, you must (Please be aware of these rules!): o Have been registered on these forums for at least 4 months.
o Have at least 50 posts (if you have the title Pre-Searing Cadet or Ascalonian Squire, you are not eligible).
• I’d like if you still actively played the game. There’s no point in going for this money if you don’t play. Please give others a chance.
• Please do not privately submit entries to me, just reply to this thread.
• Identify their IGN & forum names if they are a user here. This will increase your chances of winning if there’s some proof that this person actually exists.
Other details…
• I don’t play the game anymore, so any attempts to contact me in game will most likely be failed attempts.
• I’d ask that you not make this into a discussion thread. I’d hate to close it down, but too much feedback of any sort will result in me locking this thread. Any questions, comments or concerns can be PMed to me.
• The winner(s) will be announced shortly after December 25th, but before the new year.
• Please keep the holiday spirit in mind. I want this thread to be warm and fuzzy, not bitchy and moany!
• If your guild has forums or some other outside method of communication, feel free to post this link and get your guild mates involved!
Lastly, I want to thank the people who have inspired me to keep giving back to both my friends and the community. I’ve been in very few guilds in my time in this game, and the first long-term one will always stick with me. Xen of Onslaught, through excellency and controversy has always provided me with one consistent thing: amazing quality of person, and quality of player. To Billiard, Ruud, “The Prince,” and the rest of the Xen of Onslaught [XoO] community that I was once a part of, thank you for inspiring me to give back. Long live Reign of Xen/Xen of Heroes!
-Jenn
