Guild Capes

Why not have an upload option while creating a cape? Wouldn't it be fun if you could create your own guild design using adobe illustrator or other similar software. This would create a much larger cape diversity instead of seeing the usual designs. You would be able to personalize your cape design to exactly how you want it.

That would allow people to hack the game, and that won't happen.

My cape would definitely have naked ladies all over it.

















If anyone says they wouldn't do this they are lying.

It would be abused too much.

As cool as this would be, I can forsee two problems that might arise.

1.) Inappropriate pictures
2.) The user-uploaded images would most likely require more space in the ANet servers. That would mean more lag and slower loading times for us.

What are you rule 34'ing, I don't get it?

There are a few reasons why this would be a bad idea:
1. Inappropriate capes guaranteed
2. Storage of patterns on server, anet won't want to pay for the storage (they can't fit a "book storage" so don't even think about capes)
3. Every time you load into an area you will have to load the capes so they display on your PC.. no thanks
4. It could possibly create an opening for hackers to work on

Why would you even bother to hack GW in it's current state?

As hilarious as it would be for my guild to have a huge penis on its cape, it would be equally un-hilarious for other guilds to have giant penises on their capes. If you catch my drift. so /not signed

There are way to many people with no sense of style in this game for this suggestion to end in anything other then tears!

/sign for a "Design-an-Emblem" contest for new cape designs.

I think they just need to do another contest as Azazel said. Add about 5 more backgrounds and about 10 emblems. Itd be nice if they could do things such as that and design-a-weapon contests more often. Could make the game SLIGHTLY more interesting.

@ OP: I would accept saving and trading cape designs like templates, but uploading images is begging for abuse.

If you wanted a cooler cape to look at, im guessing you could get one working through Texmod. Otherwise, server space for the images, and a large amounts of people going for innapropriate pictures, it would be a bad idea.

It would be pretty cool, but sadly it would be abused. I'd rather it be as it is so I don't have to see nasty pictures on capes, thank you.

I would suggest sending your cape designs to Anet and if they are good they may implement them in the game.
