I have always tried to be an honest person and play fair in video games, even if i know how to cheat. i also know that "bots" are banded in Guild Wars. well anyway, i got a Lego mindstorm for my birthday which in case you don't know is a programmable, motorized Lego kit. i was standing about in an outpost try to buy something when it occured to me that press down <-> enter was a very repeative job and is unfit for humans who have much more important things to do. So is want to build a robotic arm for sending selling/buying messages, while sit near the computer say reading a book and then when the trade offer sound happens i come and make the deal.
Would this get me band and is this a type of bot, since it doesn't not actually give me any real advantage over other player?
thanks you for your time
question about bots

Um yea I don't really understand wtf you are talking about with lego's or w/e but. If it is not a program you run on your computer that alters the .dat file and/or hacks into the gw's servers they wouldn't be able to tell who is pressing on your keyboard. Robotic arm that works seperate from your computer wouldn't affect anything in your computer...as far as your computer's mainframe wouldn't be controling it so even your computer wouldn't know you aren't pressing the buttons

Is this a joke? Lego robots?
Whether you use a mechanical device or software to automate input, autmation(botting) can result in a ban. It's up to you whether you want to risk your account by playing with Legos and GW at the same time. Don't do it.

There is no way for them to know you are using a mechanical arm to hit your keys instead of your fingers feel free.

Anet is combatting any play method that allows you to play while absent. If you achieve that goal in any way, they are likely to eventually find you.
Just be at the damn keyboard.
Just be at the damn keyboard.

I don't care if Anet can detect it. *I* certainly can, and I really hate trade spam. OP, please do the world a favor and don't spam by any means. Do spammers really get more offers than the civilized people who post their trade and just wait for people to find it in the party window?

so what if someone answers your WTS message? you won't be there to do the trade since "you have better things to do".

Secondly, you would run the chance that, because it would happen so regularly, it could be detected as a bot, but I doubt it would happen. Even if it was detected as a "bot", it's a harmless bot, so I doubt anyone would take the time to worry about it. (unless a few people complained about Spam, but spamming the trade channel is pretty common.)
Thirdly - are you one of those people who doesn't look at the Search box (from the Search button in the Party box)? Anyone who is doing any amount of buying or selling, should be aware of it. It makes buying & selling so much easier, and greatly reduces the need to spam.
