Hero using skill in relation to weapon choice.

I let Acolyte Sousuke use a Cane, a mission reward that has +10 health, +10 Health while hex and + 10 health while enchanted since he's still low level and i don't have anything better to let him use.

he is set to use, fire storm, lava font, meteor shower, fireball, liquid flame, conjure flame and fire attunement and glyph of lesser energy, i know conjure flame does not work with the cane as it is not a fire weapon (secondary account, does not have other skill unlocked yet :P). but he is not using any other skills as well, except meteor shower and fire attunement.

the question: has this anything to do with him using a cane that has not fire damage, beside conjure flames, my other Acolyte Sousuke on my main account uses these skill fine with fire wands and flame off hands.

That should have nothing to do with why he is not using the skills. I have had Zed, Vekk, and Acolyte all do this and they all have fire req weapons. Not sure why this happens, sometimes the hero AI sucks. They should still use the skills no matter what they are holding (except conjure flame).

You should have no problem picking up a cheap fire weapon in a town or outpost (either from a weaponsmith or other people) if you do not get one to drop soon.
