Hi, when i bought guild wars (prophecies) a week ago, The guy in the shop gave me 2cd's: a guild wars disk (the art on the CD matches the art on the box, so i guess this is the prophecies disk) and in the second cd slot (luckily for me) wrongly gave me the Guild wars collection disk, so my question is this:
1.Is the one guild wars Prophecies disk sufficiant to install the guild wars propecies game, because i have read that people use 2 disks to install the game but i am unsure!
2.If i do not have all the disks to install prophecies, would i be able to use the guild wars collections disk to install all of the games instead, because i have heard that all the guild wars games (prophecies, factions, nightfall) are on that disk, and ready to install....Please help im so confused!
PS: I haven't been able to try the game installation yet as I am recieving a PC for christmas, so i kinda need to know before then, as this is the only game i am getting for the PC (The PC will mainly be used for gaming)
Thanks,
Alidaman

You don't really need the disk to install GW at all. All the discs have is the client and a few game files.
As long as you have a valid key, you can download the client from the guild wars homepage. That will then download all the game files you need.

Just follow the instructions given, and you shouldn't have any problems.
But if you do, let us know.

For every disk you have you save a lot of time downloading stuff though. You can 'install' (which really just loads the area, textures, models and stuff into your gw.dat) with any combination of disks you want, the first time you run GW the game will automatically download the parts you don't have. The exception to this is area files, which are downloaded when you enter the specific area. Even if you install every campaign from disks you will have to download all of the updates so far, so be prepared for some wait downloading no matter what.

So i download that client, then enter the guildwars collection key, and that will unlock all the chapters and enable me to play them? if so sweet,is this right?

you should probably run -image so that you dont have to wait a lot on each area to load. for most online games the CDs really doesnt matter, all that matter is the keycode that give you acess to each campaign.

At any rate, it's the key that's important. Did he give you a Collections key too? If not, you only have Prophecies.
At any rate, your best procedure is to install the game using the Collections disc (if it is an actual game disc). This would give you the most up-to-date set of game files. (Btw, you only need to install one disc in any case.)
After you create an account you need to add whatever key(s) you have to unlock whatever content you got.
Once you are up and running, you can start to play and GW will download any stuff it needs as you go along.
If you find that it is downloading a lot of stuff, particularly if you had to use the Prophecies disc to install, you can try running the "-image" thing overnight to download all the latest stuff in one shot. (Search on these forums for info on -image)

It doesn't really matter whether you use the disc or download the client, especially if you have a fast enough connection. When you access the game it will prompt you for the key. I would use the Prophesies key first and then add the collections key, in case it only gives you some extra stuff. If this is the case, you may need to type /bonus in the chat slot to get the goodies.
The only thing you have to be careful of is if you are in a PUG and you are accessing an area or mission for the first time, it will download the files before you join. This may take a while so, if you were going to join a Pick Up Group, I would go into the area alone, first, just to get the files and not hold up the group, or take abuse.
