There have been a few questions about the Snow Ball ATS. The requirements for the Snowball ATS are the same as for the regular ATS. You need to be in a guild. You need to be in a guild for at least 14 days. You are required to have at least 4 guild members. There is no entry fee. The Snowball tournaments will play like monthly tournaments.
For rewards, you get the standard rewards you get from Snow Arena + Tournament Reward Points. These rewards include: Balthazar faction, Candy Cane Shards, Gamer Points, and Tournament Reward Points.

If not, Warriors seem to drop back into a range of less-than-excellent, and Avalanche doesn't take that much of a hit.
On the subject of the ATS, I'm disappointed that news of it wasn't made sooner so that people could prepare, but that's fine. Just means I'll have to spend another year syncing with my old buddies.
What I'd like to know for the future is if Snowball + DA is going to get the same treatment as CB with getting more Gamer points for consecutive wins, and if ATS tourneys will be adapted for DA or CB as well.
