My advice - don't force yourself to work on one character. I tried it, not only didn't it work out, but I now also don't play my ritualist much anymore despite all the work I put into her.

If you enjoy playing all your characters, play them all. Titles aren't important, by playing all your characters you will enjoy the game more and you won't get GW/Single Character/Title Hunting overkill.

Of course if you do happen to enjoy one character a little more than the others it may work. But from a player who truly loves all their characters - I couldn't try to do the one character thing again.

For me it just sort of happened. My Ele was my first character, and my Dervish was probably my favorite character to play. I have most of the other classes, but I just ended up concentrating on either my Ele or my Dervish, mostly my Dervish however.

Do whatever you want to do, though. Don't force yourself into playing on just one of your characters if you're not going to enjoy it, that's probably the best way to ruin the game for yourself.

Though if you really want to concentrate on one character, see which one would be easiest to work on; if you want to get cartographers and one of your characters already has 70% one one of the continents, or if one of your characters already has R1 sweetooth, you might look at that as a sign.

Whichever one you enjoy playing the most is going to become your main. If you try and force-pick a Main Toon, you are going to get burned out.

My Warrior is my main toon. He is the only one that I didn't scrap and restart when I was dealing with some rough issues IRL. I've thought about remaking him many, many times, but I never do. He has earned the most points towards my account-wide titles, and has done the most towards character-based titles.

I remade my Monk and Necro, both of which are used pretty much for farming only, but I've started doing Missions on them as well, just in case I have friends or guildies that need something other than my Warrior to help out on a Mission or Quest.

For me, at least, the choice of Main vs. Alternates came about through natural progression, not forced decision.

between those four i would say ele. just pick one you enjoy really; all 10 classes are fine.

i personally dont enjoy healing especially in pve. mesmer is very fun but not widely accepted in most pugs with a non-cookie cutter build (which are the most fun honestly). dervish gets old fast to me because of its repatative enchant casting. i hate stopping mid-fight to reapply stuff as often as derv needs to. but yeah just play and try to have fun

so my vote is for ele with mes as close second

Imo it comes down to a couple of factors.

If you are going to do it all with a guild/people that changes, but if ur hero henching then monking is pretty crappy (imo) so that rules it out. As for which is the best... mesmer skills such as VoR & empathy are pretty powerful in HM, as is cry of pain. Ele damage gets gipped in HM so traditional nukes dont work so good. Dervish scythes are overpowered, but I find they dont have much build diversity. Remember, you are probably going to spend alot of time on one char so if you only have a select few builds to run itll get boring. This is y I chose ranger. Can use any weapon effectively, and can even run some support builds effectively (oath shot spirit spammer by example)

I got attached to my characters looks and fun playing them. I ended up playing my paragon as my main, which has led to a lot of fun doing hm missions and vanquishing.

You just have to play around until you just click one day and say I have the most fun and enjoyment playing xxx. Then you can work on that one and have fun.

It all depends on what profession you like the best and which is your favourite char. of deep down.I made a Warrior at first back in beta and some one tok the name away from me as I was goig around with my Monk from beta as well it then became my Monk who took on my Main char.I haven't regetted it since.Personally I like all Tyrian char.s

Do what you want to do. If are happy playing them all equally then do it (PS: it's a game, thats the point).

Once you start actively focusing on getting all of those characters through the campaigns, you'll likely notice that you'll start spending more time on one, and less time on the other.

The one you spend the most time on will be your main. Simple as that.

Which character do you enjoy playing the most? If you don't know yet, then play a few and find out, and then apply your focus on one you have fun with.
However since most titles are grinds if you focus on only one character exclusively you end up hating them, so play around with other professions as well for the variety; do other things as well as go for titles, and enjoy the game

If you want to hunt character titles, stick to one. If you play for fun, play whatever you like.
I played mesmer a lot (most guildies and ig contacts know me by that name) but nowadays I hardly play mesmer, specially since they made wisdom and treasure account wide.
The way I play now is that I play the role that fits in the team. Mainly monk, but sometimes other casters. I've noticed that we lack some experienced active warriors for certain areas, so I'm leveling and skilling one now, so I can help out on those areas.

But, most important...
I've noticed that a lot of single character players who hunt titles all of a sudden seem to stop when they hit those 'unreachable' titles (requiring ages or tons of gold).
Remember it's a game and not work, you should play for fun and not because you want a certain title so bad that you play 24/7 for it....
