Jingle Bear - Still charmable after Wintersday?
TideSwayer
Yes, I understand this could've gone into one of the many other Wintersday-themed threads, but I wanted to bring this to the attention of those who know or want to know and have it answered ASAP.
Obviously the quests to enable the Jingle Bear are Wintersday-only, and I plan on unlocking the Jingle Bear for every character of mine. With that said, will the bear itself get taken away when the Wintersday props do? Just want to know if I have to make a decision on whether or not to charm one now or can I do it at my leisure any time in the future?

I also want to know can you death level the bear? I don't know if it turns hostile when you try to charm it (if it's a special event bear and people were saying earlier they couldn't attack it or anything but may have been part of the bug).
Karate Jesus
No, he wont attack you. You have to charm it at 5
pumpkin pie
can heros charm the jingle bear?
darktemplar32489
yes i have all my rangers with it

It is a very interesting question. But its not to hard to just retame an old pet after event is over, and the answer is known.

Thanks for making this thread. I asked the same question in one of the "Let's bitch about the crap that is this event"-threads, but I think it has a better chance of being answered here.
Edit:
How about our FUTURE characters?
I always end up remaking my guys and it would be a shame if they didn't get the option to tame it. Any chance of possibly implementing it so that one can tame it even after the quests aren't available any longer? Maybe he can frolic in the Secret Lair of the Snowman after the event ends?
Thanks!

LOL I did the same thing. I did a few jingle bear runs for tips yesterday and brought Jin, Margrid, and Pyre along, all with bears. And I went D/R to let my black moa out for some air, since he only comes out when I do holiday event quests. :P

I tried to put it into my HoM yesterday, and it did not add an option to add him. I guess it falls under the general animal companion statue.
tootalltoparty
did you try it with the bear at level 20?

A decent reward, yes.
A useful one, no. Now many people actually use pets? |
At least this way you get a poor man's MPB and the people who would love the mini because of the cuteness-factor can enjoy Jiggy.
After completing the quests - I rushed to the garden - looked at the bear - went "Ohhh cute!" for 3 secs and then dashed away. That's 3 secs more then I spent on ANY other Wintersday reward.

Honestly, I prefer the Wintersday Moa over the Jingle Bear. I wish they would have made it tameable instead.
In any case, bear will stay with characters who tamed it, but the location to tame the bear will go away with Wintersday. That is my guess.

I'm going to put myself out on a limb, but I think that the Jingle Bear is probably considered part of the Wintersday Festival and it will disappear with the closing of the event. It's supposed to be a reward for finishing all four Wintersday Eye of the North quests so I suspect that it will go away and you'll have to redo the quests again next year.
Since all the other Wintersday quests in this game are pretty much reset every year, regardless if you did them the previous year, then I can't see how this Jingle Bear bonus is any different. Keeping the Jingle Bear around forever will just make it another boring animal that anybody can capture, and it'll lose any kind of interesting flavor that it had.
In the end, it's up to ArenaNet to decide, but if they keep that bear around forever, then it's no different than just passing out festival hats to anybody at any time. It effectively negates the whole purpose of tying it to a specific festival.

Anyone got any answers from the anet people regarding this question? Hate to see the bear go after wintersday. :P
Codin The Great
i dont think u can get jingle bear after efvent becuase u got to do the quests in order to get it.
Quaker
I don't think you'll be able to get (tame) a Jingle Bear after the event, but the question is, will the ones you've already tamed, remain?
recon54
perhaps they will move the Jingle Bear after wintersday. Maybe they will put it in the Secret Lair of Snowmen when Wday ends. Or maybe they wont, only Anet knows the final outcome of it.
Kayelyyb
actually the question that was asked is if he finishes the quest on all chars he has but doesn't take the time to collect the pet once wintersday is over will it still be waiting for him or not? i suspect it will be gone.

If the bear remained, it would be available to anyone who could find someone who had completed the quests and was willing to guide them to Gwen's Garden. That would mean that the bear--for all intents and purposes--would be available year round.

Since that would destroy its uniqueness as a holiday gift, I doubt that ArenaNet would allow it. My guess is that the bears that haven't already been charmed will disappear after the holiday.
'Course we won't know for sure until the celebrations are over.

Well, the decorations are down, the snow has melted, but Jingle is still there. Looks like I was wrong.

I am in desperate need of a Jingle Bear. Someone show me the way to the Garden of Gwen where mystical bears play and jingle plox.
SerenitySilverstar
Walk out into Ice Cliffs from EOTN. Turn sharp right. Stay on the ice until you hit the cliff, all of 30 seconds. See 2 humps of ground with a well and sparkly lights. Charm. Enjoy.
KIDGOOCH
This maybe a silly question, but I'll ask anyway. Can you run someone else out there to cap the bear or is he only tameable if you completed the tasks?
[DE]
The garden appears only if you have someone in your party who has the quest in their log; anyone in that party can tame the bear.
stretchs
Actually the garden is always there, and has been always there, its just the bear's appearance that has changed. Prior the garden was there, but no bear, now with the quests being completed there is jingleness in the garden
Tom Swift
Just to be clear - the Jingle bear will be there if someone in your party completed all the EoTN wintersday quests. They won't actually show in their log since they were completed.
