sigh... sins
wesman
ok so I am happily minding my own business going around giving a fair account of myself to everything I meet in AB when a sin comes marching along and completely messes me up. I mean it was bad... once he hit mobius/deathblosom and started his button mashing it was all over for me. So in my exp its pretty much either blocking skills or blind that will get a sin off your back. Besides [ebon dust aura] dervs don't have much in the way of blind and blocking is limited to [mirage cloak] which is less then praticle due to its expensive energy cost.
So I was just wondering what you guys do about survivability in Pvp events (now with grenths avatar its even harder to die in Pve)

Stand there and let them beat on me.
Breakfast Mc Rit
[Distracting Shot]
Then I let him wail on me with his pathetic auto-attacks until he dies shortly after.
[Shield of Force]
Hint: Stop thinking of AB as a 1v1 game and more of a team game. Snare him and kite if you don't have the proper defenses. Anyone who calls you a "noob runner" is just mad that they couldn't show you their leet skillz.

When I meet a sin in AB I make steamed sin brulee (but then again, I play ele). As Breakfast says, AB is a team game and while you can't bring a decent counter to every potential threat by yourself, a team of four can.

for other professions, like others have said...just snare them and let one of the other 11 players deal with it, or if you really want to enlarge your e-peen bring any skill that blocks or a skill that causes weakness, any profession should be able to find a skill that does one of those effectively

put empathy on them and kite...most sins (about 90%) are stupid and will just attack through it.

@Trippie: Why would you take Crip Anguish over Inept when it's merely a Burden with a little degen?

You could always go /W and take [Shield Bash] and swap to a shield set when a sin comes.
And yes [Distracting Shot] is ftw. Take a bow set and run it if you need, you don't need any attribute points for it.

Speaking of Distracting Shot, I ran a D-Shot Monk not long ago. It was spectacular I say!
But yeah, D-Shotting Guardians and WoH's for yourself is lol.

you are not going to beat a sin 1v1 with a reasonable build. Even AB is a team game.

Assassins can usually outpace a Dervish pretty badly in PvP, even when they aren't running a scythe build. What I'd advise is just rely on your monk to keep you alive, or even better, get a good Mesmer on your team.

just [empathy] does the trick for me... all you need to do is take the hits... it is the enchantment killing sins that mess me up
When I play mesmer sins are my first target...since they can take a target out faster then any others and they like to get out of monk/team range alot.

[weapon of warding][weapon of shadow][Blind Was Mingson][Blinding Surge][Smoke Powder Defense] are just some of my favorite ways of dealing with them.
