I keep getting pummeled by these snow-wielding grentch fiends. My character is suffering from pneumonia while I suffer from -9000% morale due to excess failure at virtual snowball fights. );

My tactics are as follows:
  1. Load Hidden Rock.
  2. Transform into Dwayna.
  3. Set up Snow Fort.
  4. Use Snow Down the Shirt.
  5. Spam Snowballs and an occasional -75 big bertha.

Yet, I still fail.

Any tips while fighting these wretched sons of a Grenth?

I have no dervish so I don't know what turning into Dwayna gets you
Aggro
Spam Snowballs
Bertha when you have adren
Fortress only if you get down to about 1/2 your health and need it
Snowcone only if you'd die without it.
I never use Snow Down Shirt unless they run up to me. If they get to melee distance then use it, otherwise it doesn't seem worth it to me.

The main thing is just like with regular skills in the main part of the game -- watch your aggro and dodge where possible. Dodge works best using the strafe keys -- I think the default keys for them is Q and E but I've changed my keyboard set so many times I'm not certain. You don't have to move very far to dodge. If you're in the fortress don't try to dodge at all; movement takes you out of the fortress and ends the skill.

If you're talking about strength of snow you're doing it all wrong. run past the grentches (except the solo popups, take them out.) run all the way to the end, run past freezie to the closed door and stay there. The snowmen keep ressing and they will kill grentch.
How to kill solo grentches:
cast hidden rock, throw snowball at them, run back a bit(to cancle out their use of snow fort), cast snow fort, spam snowballs till dead

Lol, you guys might think I'm stupid, but I didn't know you could dodge by strafing. (This is my first Wintersday too). ;P

And Ayelet Feldspar, Avatar of Dwayna (in the snowball fights) is a 30 second skill where whenever you use a skill, you gain 10 health.
(Thanks for the tips as well).

Amantis, I do not understand what you mean by "strength of snow". Please expand.

Anyways, I will try this again, and I'll post my outcome. (;

Second, if you didn't know you can strafe, I can tell you haven't done Dragon Arena either. Think of the two being one in the same - dodge to live.

Third, tactics:

1. Hidden Rock
2. Aggro
3. Spam snowballs, Mega Ball when charged
4. strife when possible.
5. Avatar of Dwayna when at approx 75% health (gives 10 health per skill for those who don't know)
6. Ice Fort at approx 50% health or multiple foes preventing easy strife (haven't done the quest so...)
7. Snowcone when under 1-2 hits left (hits are 50 dmg each, regular attacks by Grentches are 18-33, mega snowball and icicles is 75 - figure out as needed by enemies you fight)
8. MUST DODGE YELLOW SNOW - degen is annoying when fighting Grentches, because even if you dodge or use Ice Fort, degen will hurt.

Lastly, use a monk over dervish (avatar interrupts when it goes down - ouch)
