Bandwidth problem

When I play gw, it takes up SO much bandwidth that my parents can't even get on the internet. Is there any trick I can use or something I can buy (cheap) to help me with this problem or is this just a retarded question?

Depends on the router/modem you have.
I know that you can limit the traffic to certain MAC addresses on your network, but your router/router-modem has to support this. I'm personally not aware of any software that will do the same thing.

Having said this, this is odd. Normally routers/modems will prioritise web traffic first by default. Are you downloading anything in the background?

Enabling QoS on your router would help. But the big question is what kind of Internet do you have and who is the provider?

I find that kind of odd. You must have a very low bandwidth for your parents to not be able to get on the internet. GW doesn't use an unusual amount of bandwidth. Perhaps you have Malware or a virus using up bandwidth?

Well we think that is what it was. We ran some scans yesterday and she did have a virus and some malware, doesn't seem to be as much of an issue now.
