has anyone ever tried him?

i was able to run to him withe ele / sin

after farming lord from the top

but i cant seem to dent this derv boss

any tips?

Shadow bombing.

Go perma grab The dwarf outside sifhala for 100g run to taameh, click the dwarf... space bar + f1 + space bar + f1 as fast as you can.

@^: You don't need to press F1. Just click on the dwarf/space him constantly and the new keg should replace the one you were holding (i.e., old keg goes boom).

Yup - i always shadow bomb him on the way to killing vattrs -

but his bug scythe is really ugly

Basically what everyone else said. If you have a sin, go use the Keg Farming technique...if not, I still recommend keg-farming style, but if you're gonna run an E/A you'll have to take out the couple of Mandragors before them during each SF cast up until Taameh.
