I'll reword this in a more comprehend able fashion, layman's terms if you will: "people are dumb enough to pay more than they are worth"

This...just dont buy them. People want to pay ridiculous prices for them, let them be stupid.

Well, you're ignorant if you pretend to know the worth of what something is to other people. It's WORTH whatever someone will pay, so you can't put a certain price on something and say that's what it's worth. The value changes depending on who you're talking to.

Yeah he'd have a fit to know someone paid me 10k for each amber I sold and they bought 10 of them. The value of something is not what 'you' place on them, the value is what any one person is willing to pay. This isn't real life thus real life buying and selling habits do not rule as money is plentiful in games vs real life. I can make a million plat in a week and I certainly can't make that in a week in real life. Well, not with the farming job I have. lol

People are only paying that much because they are either:
a) Uneducated
b) Retarded

This thread is meant to educate people on the price of candy cane shards to prevent the high number of scams going on (Ex: Selling CCS for 100g, Carvings 20k+/stack,etc..)

they're worth about 20g each now with the supply so massive but will probably stay around ~100

I sold 150 Candy Cane Shards for 150 each in Lion's Arch and I found someone in Kamadan selling them at 80 each, so, regardless of math, desperate people make... well, you get the idea...

Oh, and I bought 300 CC Shards from that person selling them at 80 each. I probably could keep going back and forth on this through the entire event.

The problem with your calculation is that you are using your values on the resulting output (ie who says a tonic has a value at 800g?). If you say the market sets their value, then you undermine your whole argument about the value of shards.

Also referring to anyone that disagrees to your sense of their value by the above two names is both narrow minded, rude and ignorant.
