Part One - The Happy Home
"Shhh. Quiet now." A soothing voice came from above her as a calm hand was placed on her head. She looked up to a tall man with a muscular build. Although he was not training, he had let her come along on a leisurely skale-slaying afternoon. "Stay here, just watch. I don't want you getting hurt, now."
"Okay, Daddy." she said, running to behind a tree, kicking her heels up happily.
She watched as her father easily cut through the skales that were making a nuiscance around their home and garden. Her little sister wasn't yet old enough to come along, besides the fact that she was talkative, as most her age were.
After killing the Brood, her father returned, and told her to go get some water from the waterfall so Mommy could boil some potatoes for supper. She ran back to the small bridge she had helped build a few years before and gathered up a small bucket and her hat, perching it upon her head.
She was just a few minuets after her father getting home and she placed her bucket on the table, hugging her mother, and running off to play with her little sister.
She walked into her room, throwing her sunhat on her bed and going to greet her sister, her little blonde pigtails bouncing off her back.
"Licia!!" the little brunette yelled as she saw her sister. She ran up to her and jumped into her arms. Alicia laughed joyfulled as she squeezed her little sister. "It's good to see you again too, Duney." she said, rubbing her sisters back.
"C'mon Licia! I wanna show you my drawings!" she said as she was placed back on the floor. She pulled her big sister along, eager to share her creative capability. After the drawings had been shared, their mother called them out for dinner.
Some of the skale meat had been baked and potatoes boiled. Her father was the first to speak among the four.
"So Licia. Your birthday's next month, what do you want this year?"
Alicia's eyes brightened at the sund of 'birthday' and a plan emerged in her mind. "Could I get a new wand?" she asked looking back from her mother to her father.
"We might be able to do that." her mother said, swallowing a bit of skale.
"Oh, Liss, don't tell her that!" her father said. "Of course we can get you one!"
"Don't get her hopes up now Dirk. We don't know that we'll be able to get her one."
"Enough! We'll talk about it later." he spoke up, putting half a medium sized potato in his mouth.
