PvE Equipment window
Empress Amarox
Alright, this would be a total revamp of how our armors, runes, dyes and storage are done now.
Armors we currently have on our characters or armors that are customized to them (just in case we have some on mules when it happened, so it'd have to be retroactive), will disappear.
Customized weapons will disappear as well. We'll get an option to customize shields, and if we do that, those will disappear.
They'll go into a new menu, like the PvP Equipment window, where PvP characters create their PvP Equipment.
Now, here's the difference... It'll store all your armors in there, and you'll be able to craft them directly onto your body; but, we'll only be able to craft them with mods we have already put on those armors. But, once we apply a mod to an armor, we'll be able to make it with those mods.
For example, lets say we have a Labyrinthine Chest Design. We have a Survivor insignia on it, but one day we decide we'd prefer Wanderer. So, we apply one of those. Then when we went back into the PvE Equipment window, it'd have an option of creating either a Survivor's Labyrinthine Chest Design or a Wanderer's Labyrinthine Chest Design.
The same as above would be done with dyes, but completely differently than it's done now in PvP Equipment. Obviously many of us have custom combinations. So, there would need to be a panel for our dye combinations we've applied to an armor, and it would keep track of it, for example it'd be like so:
Black, Blue, White, Silver
White
Black
Red, White
Purple, Red
Et cetera.
Every time we'd apply a new custom dye set to the armor, it'd list it in there so we could remake it whenever we'd like.
The mods would be mostly like PvP, but everything would be grayed out except the mods that we have available for those particular weapons.
I'd also say if something like this -- not this, cause obviously this is flawed and would need the kinks worked out a bit, it's just a rough idea right now -- were to be added, then we'd want an option to add or not add armors/weapons/shields into our character's panel.
Reason? Some mods can't be gotten anymore, some weapons are not inscribable, some armor combinations are no longer possible, like old black. So, we'd have an option of not adding those armors and weapons.
Obviously a benefit of this would be it'd clear up a lot of storage space for those of us that have a lot of armors. I'd also make it so that once we add an armor to our PvE Equipment panel we could delete it at any time and it'd be saved, or we could put it in our inventory (still take off our clothes like normal) and store it there if we wanted. It would be unsalvagable though, of course.
Now, ahem... Troll away if you'd like. I'd prefer people comment on what they think and what they'd change with the aforementioned before they'd like it. That way it's made to be a worthwhile comment rather than just a troll or +1 post.
But yeah, feel free to add whatever. It's just a vague general idea I'm throwing out there. Fix it, change it, shrug it off, whatever.

easy armor storage. would be nice.
Icy The Mage
Omg yes 100% signed, it'd get rid of my 3 storage slots taken up purely by armor, and finally allow me to buy new armor that I want
Arcane Spark
Great idea, would be so much more convienent.

...or something like that. fitting 4 sets of armor and 5 weapon sets in an incredibly cramped ass backpack/storage is just plain annoying.

It's been implemented with PvP, I think they should do the same with PvE.

I've been thinking something similar for months, but couldn't figure out how to streamline it as you have. Major props, and you hit all the details!
/signed, for the sake of my storage, and my 4 separate mules dedicated solely to weapons, armor, etc.

if they wont give more storage space because of lack of server space they wont do this.

After a real reading, your idea doesn't look much unlike other good ideas I've seen in the past. Unfortunately, it's not happening at this stage. It wouldn't be such a bad idea to adopt a similar system to this GW2 though, assuming GW2 equipment systems had any intention of mimicking how they are now in OGW.

Convenient, but too easy. Just think about it, a warrior who has lots of armor that he/she can't carry all at once is in one little thing call the PvE inventory? I hope you all get where I'm going at. Simply put, unrealistic of the game.

The only way to solve the storage problems is removing the need for storage.
Get each armor once.
I thought about something similar once: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10108745
So I agree with things like this.
No one buys many armor sets with the same skin, specially since the insignia addition.
Of course 'rare' things like weapons without inscription slot or rare mods would not fit in, but a lot of storage would be saved anyways.

Its guild wars...its a fantasy game...you can carry a couple thousand ectos WITH you, you can carry couple of full armor sets with you, which im sure you cant do in real life with a backpack and a pouch...thats unrealistic...the whole game is unrealistic...you shoot fireballs at people, make them go blind...etc etc oh and one more thing, if they do add this to the game, i take it your not going to use it?
