Guilds are irrelevant. This... is...... BUILD WARS!!!

I wasn't really sure where to post this, so I thought this would be the best place...

Has anybody ever read a book called "The Art of Halo"? It's a book of Halo concept art. I was wondering if there was anything similar to this for Guild Wars, and if not, it should definately be released soon.

I don't know if anybody else did this, but quite a few months back, PC Gamer released an issue that was an EotN guide, and I only bought it for the 40 pages of concept art.
Anyways, if there is any type of concept art book available for purchase, please tell me!

Concept art books were released with the Collectors Edition versions of the game (eg Guild Wars Nightfall CE got the "Art of the Guild Wars Nightfall" book). I'm not sure if you can buy them seperatly or not. If your interested, the artists tend to post most of their work that appears in the books on the ConceptArt.org forums. An example being this Eye of the North art thread.

Post it in Sardelac. It's a good idea, especially since their artists win awards on a regular basis.

As far as I know, you cannot buy those individual books. There is a website with a bunch of Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North/Utopia artwork, forget the website though - should get it by Googling "Guild Wars Concept Art" or something of the like.

As mentioned in the Q&A video from the PAX, the artists were, at least at that point, considering making a book of all (or at least most) GW concept art. Hopefully, they will go through with that. Would be lovely to have.

Might be a good way for Anet to generate some revenue by selling those artbooks.

there was a magazine that did a full mag on GW EoTN and there was a lot of concept art in there, of GW xpacks that didnt come out, nf, eotn, ext.

just went to look for mine, it is PC GAMER presents a special guild wars issue, guild wars guide.

not sure if you can pick up that mag anymore, if you can good luck, it was released 12/25/07.

There was also a code inside that mag for the mini destroyer

Concept art books were collector's edition only, maybe you can get them separately from ebay.

NCSoft were giving out the concept books for free at Leipzig earlier in the year, you might be able to find a set on eBay or similar.

GW2 concept art hasn't been released yet apart from the few pictures that were shown with EotN. Which were arguably more EotN art than GW2 art.

They should release it all as a hardbound book along side those paperback novels they were going to release.

I'd love to have a big fat book of the GW concept art, I think it's probably some of the best art I've seen anywhere.

IIRC Prophecies "special edition" (in America it was called "One Million Edition") had an artwork minibook, called "Art of Guild Wars".

Factions and NF CE had bigger mini artbooks. There was more art in the "Official Guidebook" for Factions (not sure for Prophecies' Prima Guide).

PC Gamer from MAy 2007 #161 could be considered EotN's artbook (not sure if there was a book in the boxed version as I only bought mine from the online store).

And there's plenty of online art as mentioned above, in particular conceptart which has among the most fabulous pics. See also ten ton hammer:

*Bump*

Does anyone know if any of the Guild Wars (Prophecies) concept art is available online? It feels like I've checked everywhere, including ConceptArt.org (where it apparently existed earlier at least) and Daniel Dociu's homepage, but results are scarce.

I own collector's editions of both Factions and Nightfall and love the included art books, but the Prophecies one is no longer sold anywhere so...

from the GW2 thread on CA (here), a link is given to Daniel Doci's page (here) for prophecies art. maybe you weren't checking for the right years? there's also links to earlier threads...hope that helped some.

Thank you! Yes, I believe I didn't look around Daniel's gallery as much as I should have.

The art book may no longer be available, but Dociu's artwork defenitely is the backbone of the GW universe. I simply adore his style.

I assume you're probably aware of the newer art book, featuring a lot of Daniel Dociu's more recent work - 'The Art of Guild Wars 2'. If not, you can find that here.

I think the concept art is very broad when you first see it, then when you see it as part of the game, it makes more sense, not yet seen the finale of GW2 so can't comment!
