Slowly leveled at Kilroy's boxing for the past 4 days and died before I hit legendary survivor due to disconnection. Needs moar luck, connection wise.

1. War, got r3 in Prophecies then start to frenzy through Factions and died at 1.8M exp to 3 groups of wallows.
2. Ranger, got r3, x3 protectors and died at 2.7M exp during hayda's quest. A group of simian joined the white mantle and wiped my party with splinter weapons.
3. Mesmer, got r3, x3 protectors and died at 2.1M exp coz 10k+ ping. =.=

have tried it a couple of times....my first attempt (monk) died on the starter island of factions to the rit boss at level 18 or 19, next one (mesmer) died at level 13 (meh), next one (paragon) died because my hubby over aggroed and didnt care that I was working on survivor (he thinks titles are dumb). she was just 10k short of level 1.
my male rit made it to level 1 which was what I had wanted so I dont remember where he died.
My ele made it to level 2 (700k) and died to a combo of lag and stupidity killing the wurms (and got too close to the oakheart guys)....and by the time I could move again---one death.
I still have 2 more in the works---one is at 300k, the other barely past level 1 (she is my back up if the other dies)....I dont play them much since lagg has been horrible at best. Would really like to get one character to level 3 (the ele who diead at 700 still hasnt gotten 1.3m xp yet and I have played her tons since she died).

My Rit died in Zen Daijun because I think fun > titles so I was blowing stuff up with [[Cruel was Daoshen], [[Ancestor's Rage], and [[Spirit Rift].

After hearing all the horror stories, I went absolutely paranoid on my Dervish, who didn't even TOUCH the starter missions until she was level 20. I got ferried to Consulate Docks, and the first thing I did with her new max armor set was give her a sup vigor.
So far, she's level 1 survivor.
I also never tried to level her when I thought there might be more lag than normal, since that seemed like the main cause of death.

Suicide right after monk earned the title. No armor/weaps/heroes and ran buck naked straight to the first mob I saw, never seen a lvl 20 character drop so fast. Now I don't worry about him dying on me anymore

The only time I really tried, I died to a bunch of lvl 16 trolls in the Tyrian jungle. I just got sloppy and thought I could kill them before they killed me...
Other than that, I always died to the dreaded lag spike.

Henchmen and heroes are nearly 100% predictable and extremely reliable. Players do the stupidiest things at the worst moments (heck I do stupid mistakes too), be it due to distraction, being tired or their attention got diverted by something in real life. This is specially true for Monks or any healer class, don't count on them to save your ass because they will probably make a fatal mistake and it won't be long before it happens.

Back on topic, I lost a Level 13 Assassin two days ago in Zen Daijun. There was a MM necro leading the group so I felt safe and tried to melee some lone mobs. A few battles later, there was extra aggro, I took some hits and afflicted explosions, that combined with Miasma, took my health down to like 40... I started kiting around Tahlkora waiting for a heal, hit Shroud of Disdress, but an Afflicted Ele spotted me and toasted me with Lava Arrows. Could have left the game, it was a slow and stupid death.
Not a big loss though, just left game, deleted sin, went back to my Mesmer and not planning to make another anyway.

My Assassin was level 20 in Zen Daijun and died, just because the player monk didn't heal me. But I guess surivior (1) it the best title for a sin. Gives the people the impression, that you don't run in just to die.

I thought the brawling wasn't so bad, as long as you take scrolls with you.
But the 2 biggest survivor killers are random people and lagg.
After I got survivor on my monk, I died during a run to rata sum because some idiot warrior was itchy and started aggroing. It didn't matter anymore, but I specifically stayed away from people to get survivor.
Also the lagg is a real killer. Specifically in harder area's. Because of the reconnect option, logging out quickly doesn't necessarily keep you from dying because the session is still active waiting for you to reconnect.
So after I made level 10 I quickly went to EotN and went to the brawling dungeon. Actually with the scrolls of heroes insight (lasts 10 mins) and the dungeon reward, you make about 13-14k xp in NM, which takes about 7-8 mins to do. It's easy and quick in NM, can't really fail there...About an hours worth of gameplay for 100k xp , which means you can get your survival title in about 10 hours gameplay from where you are now. Just a thing to consider.

The game lags to much for me to seriously try for this title, plus my necro is my title achiever and as far as I know survivor is not account based, no way in hell I'm starting again with title getting just so I can add Survivor to the list.
I did make a new Ele recently, I decided to see how far into survivor I could get, I died when my monks h/h decided they would rather heal eachother when they lost 1% of their health than heal me when I was in trouble, AI ftl

My first 2 survivors died before even reaching lvl 20 because i was lazy.
My para (survivor) died in the realm of torment when a friend made a MASSIVE aggro that even imbagon couldn't save a party from total wipe. I was sitting on around 1 mill xp.

Roaring Ethers suddenly got the amazing ability to E-surge spike. ~6 of them target my earth henchie and the AoE wiped all but 4 members.
90 Damage x 6 Ethers = 540 = Death to henchies
Seriously, WTF! It's bad enough that we were balled. But they target the one henchie to pull off the spike. My Imbagon and 3 Rayway monks had ~100 health in 2 seconds... My 2 rayway monks cast their rezes after the henchies died. Some odd reason completely ignoring the dangerously low health we had. I pressed the X buttom. 0 Deaths. Thank God.

Anyway, my first two Proph toons, which I won't be rerolling, never even made first survivor (a Me and a W).
My Para made it halfway to R3 just questing and playing before I finally ran her to EotN and did wurm runs to get the last rank. Now I am finishing up NF with her. Her first death (at 1.6 mil) was during that stupid Snowball Dominance quest. She has exactly one death.
My Necro (from Factions) made halfway to level 2 doing quests and mission before I ran to EotN and did boxing to rank 3. I proceeded to get killed almost immediately running around Echovald due to my running the old Mystic Lich build. Wonderfully cool when it works, but dangerous for survivors. This was a second attempt, as I had played a previous version for about a month, with it dying either just before or just after achieving r1 in survivor.

I have a Proph Ele I lost on level 7 while farming dyes in pre. I am considering rerolling, cos I need an ele for farming, but I really don't want to start another proph toon. They are just a pain to get to max level and effectiveness.
I must say I am going to just farm for any more survivors I get. I spent over a year working on my Para and Necro survivors, and couldn't play them when my computer/connection was in iffy shape. I was scared to do missions or go places. All in all, its a neat title to have, but I think it is more stress than it is worth. I would rather just play the game. My Mes (with 1500 deaths) finished all the factions missions in one weekend. That is how I would rather play the game, rather than tiptoeing around just trying to stay alive. Not very heroic, if you ask me.

Cellphone rang while I was auto-running with Supplies in hand. Ex was calling for no apparent reason and I was looking at the cellphone trying to decide should I answer or not. Needless to say, I did the dumb thing and answered. She started to trip. Bewildered, I managed to aggro two mobs of Wardens. Tried to keep my cool: dropped the supplies and started to retreat slowly. hmm, first sin I made died trying to kill Lyssa at about 800k (crip and 2 hits from Lyssa ftl.
Lost a touch ranger @ 600k in the desert with scarabs (I didnt die and killed them all - but it showed up as a death when I zoned back into town..never got to the bottom of it with support ).
I was trying to get a friend a r3 in NF, I was running somewhere (killing drakes quest I think?) when they took a quest at the entrance that spawned enemies all around them.. no way to get back to save them (just over 1 Mil).
Got 10 r3 survivors on my main (1 of each prof - pre eotn), then proceeded to kill them so I didnt keep trying to keep them alive

My Legendary Survivor (Paragon) is still at 0 deaths. I mostly made him for the Hall of Monuments so he is still where I left him. (Eye of the North). By the way: He got the title by dwarven boxing.

As soon as I got r3 on my only survivor (warrior), I went and death leveled a pet to make up for it.

My Derv died playing Polymock, my piece died and the game counted it as a death (it showed my character falling dead then instantly resurrecting.) Funny thing was that the piece that had killed my piece had done so with Polymock Savannah Heat which kept on pulsing even after I was rezzed, I took around 500 damage from it before I ran out of range, sporting a hearty 55hp. Anyway he had 1,900k exp anyway so I didn’t care, much.
My Paragon found that lovely dungeon titled Irontoe’s Lair, needless to say R3 was a piece of cake. I suck at being s SY Paragon so he’s been closed to dyeing a few times, but is still alive. He’s going to become a mule unless I get entertained…He has 1,300k+
My Elementalist is still punching midgets in Irontoe’s Lair, 200k exp or so.
Necromancer and Ranger are still in pre…and will most likely stay there unless I find incentive to play GW again, or play in pre…I hate that place…

All my 10 characters were pre-survivor characters, and my main title hunter is from june 2005, and as such I don't have survivor on any of my characters.
But since I heard news that all your achievenemts from your HoM's would get merged and carried over to GW2, I decided to make my paragon mule survivor. And so I brawled, and brawled, and then brawled some more. Got r3, and, errrr, he hasn't died yet, as he's back to muling :P Never brawled when connection was bad/laggy, or during events or busily played weekends such as double faction/rep weekends.
...I guess that was a bit off-topic xD
But I did try to get survivor on a secondary account though. Also a mule, but since my gf started playing last year, I put those to good use by helping her get from the starter islands to the mainlands in Cantha and Elona. This character of mine was a canthan elementalist. Got him as far as the quest "finding the oracle". We went from Dragon's Throat to find Nika, but as we entered Bukdek Byway, I thought "Hey, let's do this little sidequest on the way called "The Afflicted Guard", should be easy!". I had JUST reached r1 survivor, the big oaf of a warrior boss comes up to ME alone, clubs me to death in like 2 hits. I was like "..........crap..."
Killed in the street, by Mr. Yellow, with a hammer...
But no harm done, as he was a simple mule on a secondary account, that doesn't have EotN anyway.
But never fight bosses with an unexperienced party/noob heroes. :P
Or better, don't PUG at all, only with players you know and trust. If it turns bad then, at least you know the others did their best.
oh, and a tip: if you need faction, for whatever reason, (skills, befriending L/K) do it with ANOTHER CHARACTER!

lol, this is painful memory, my first survivor dies at, i have to use the cm thing again lol, i remember it was approximately, look like 1.5 cm long left in the bar before i reach legendary survivor, she was my first attempt at survivor, thinking back, the Assassin die soon after I reached the mainland soon after that I saw a conversation in Kaineng Center,

Meh, mine died in Ascalon Foothills at level 11 or so I think while doing some quests... didn't feel like running from an over-aggro of Hydras.>__>
