Christmas event question

I got a question about the the christmas events hats this year. Do you have to have a certain amount of candy cane shards to acquire(250) after u attend the event, or can u just attend the event and get the hats without having 250 candy cane shards? Thanks to you all who reply.

hats have been given out every year for free, the shards were for playing dwayna/grenth's little ring game

what , I don't think 250 shards is the correct amount require. anyone knows exactly how many? now i'm confused.

For the actual question: Hats are free. You get unlucky and lucky points via having candy cane shards (only need 15 per 3 hours iirc). Hat you get is based on which god wins the district.
Usually, the community sets it up so even=dwayna and odd=Grenth (unless I am mistaken).

ty all for the information, it really helped. I had a bunch extra so i gave some away to people who didnt know they needed some shards.
