Title manuals
Winterclaw
I was just thinking if as a rare drop, there were manuals (or other item) that boosted your rank by a bit in some of the titles.
For example you might have a sweets cook book that gives you 100-200 points in the sweets track. Or a manual on treasure hunting or lock picking. There could be lucky coins for the luck track. Or there could be maps for one entire zone of the game.
The only things that should be ruled out IMO are PvP titles, vanquishing, and mission completion.

so make just about every title buyable? /notsigned

Titles are easy enough as it is. Stop whining to make them easier.
caballo_oscuro
No need to make titles easier. They're meant to take dedication and waste time... If you want it bad enough, you gotta make a sacrifice...
Marty Silverblade
I'll /sign for the sugar/drunkard/party titles as long as you can't trade the manuals and they drop very rarely.
The Little Viking
Shayne Hawke
Mordiego
omg, how ridiculous one can get?

Since any rare drop can be converted into gold and gold can be converted into almost every title, the system is already in place. Why bother creating extra books as a new middle-man?

How does getting a drop from an enemy relate to getting sweet tooth/drunkard/party points at all?
I see absolutely no reason for this.

And add an elite version of each that only drops from bosses in HM. When you use the elite versions, it maxes the title instantly!

Please try to use that thing inside your skull before making suggestions.

forget this, i have a better idea
every monster you kill in pve gives you 100 points or 10% to each title(including hero and champ), and every time you max a title you get 3 fow armors and a few stacks of ectos
i like to do minimum work for maximum effort

Hmm why don't we make /.faction /.fame /.gold and /.win commands available to all players.

You know, the only way to really WIN at this game is to hit that button on the front of your computer, slowly push yourself away from the desk, and go outside and get some air.

So then turn the idea into a week long (at most) event for those drops and MAYBE I'll /sign. It doesn't sound like this would be a temporary change though. Permanent new drops of this sort would be very bad. If you didn't play much during Wintersday, then you missed the HUGE numbers of people maxing Sweet Tooth, Drunkard, and Party Animal and also hitting GWAMM. Making it easier/faster to hit GWAMM is not needed, and not wanted by most people.

Maybe the only one of those titles that this makes sense with is drunkard, if however, you have to purchase it from an NPC with booze.
Ie, an NPC collector who will give you a 100 pt book for drunkard if you turn in 250 pts worth of booze. That way, there is a faster, but much less efficient way to earn ale-hound.
But, what you are suggesting, nah, don't like it. /notsigned

the titles are meant for you to play this game and help keep it alive until GW2 comes out. That is if you sole purpose right now is titles grinding, I know some titles are a pain but the other are pretty much simple, find the right groups, have guildies help out, only one I see a true pain are the PVP titles which take alot of your time, but that is for the PVP guys/girls out there that love to PVP
