Anyone noticed this? Its always the same guys that do nothing but spam snowball and never pick up presents. I'd be tempted to think that they are just abysmally bad players but no... I've played many games and recognize the ones that move and spam snowball mechanically, follow people around, never ping and never reply when you talk to them. Been reporting them but well...

As if the leechers and leavers aren't bad enough now this. Seriously? Anet bans gold farming bots sporadically but what is the point of a report feature if most of the bot reports have no result?

Reporting is about the only thing you can do about it. Otherwise you just have to ignore them. But since their so bad of 'players', phree kandy? Unless of course their on your team...Might as well just leave then.

What Da Best said...this is another good way of bringing it up to anet's attention. Other than that I guess to just keep reporting away and try to give them their justice

Reporting them with the in-game thing never seems to get rid of them, and since anet can't seem to find the bots very well it looks like we're stuck with them.

I always tell my team to give up. Don't fight = no faction. If the bots don't get any sort of rewards, there is no motivation to use them.

report then leave.

except leaving gets you the dishonorable hex... so does mass reporting (as I just found out when reporting the three bots on my last team).

It used to be just Ws as bots, but now its spread to most any class. Easiest way to recognize them is that they wait until an enemy gets into radar range before moving straight towards them. Most folks at start of game will move up to gate - typically bots don't. Course bots also don't deny they are bots... but that can be tough since its also possible the player doesn't speak english.

The growing plague of bots in the Snowball arena is really hurting the event (for me). It seems like most of the players have left, which means you'll almost always have a bot on your team. Sure a lucky draw of all decent players should do even better in this environment (easy wins), but if they don't even click in... SIGH

I'm guessing they're farming balth faction since they rarely win matches for the ccs.

I don't think thats a bot. That's just a bad player who doesn't know the rules (many of those in snowball). Bots either stay stationary or auto target an ally and c-space to follow them without using any skills the entire game.

Oh, and the only legit bot I've seen so far in snowball was a rt.

We'll you'd think they would get a clue if they same player is reported multiple times by many different people, but nothing ever seems to happen to them. There's this certain player for example, who has been botting in fort aspenwood for literally MONTHS(reported dozens of times to no avail)... I caught him botting in SB arena along with another well known FA leecher. Its just really annoying when u finally get a good team buit have to leave because of a useless bot.

When all they're doing is spamming snowballs into a wall because the target is behind it? Players can't be that bad - ok maybe they can be, but repeating the same questionable behavior over multiple games and having it duplicated (exactly) by other possible bots?

What are they there for? Balth faction? Surely AB/FA/FQ is still more profitable for these idiots to leech for rather than snowball (where they get Kurzick/Luxon faction as well as balthazar).

I doubt they are botting i think they ARE as sad as you say If they are botting then why worry its the end of the event anyway

There is a big diffrence between leaching and botting. Botting requires programs that need to be install to work. leaching requires no programs to be installed. They way you can tell if someone is leeching is they will only follow the person on the top of the party list and not use any skills at all or pick any thing up. The way this is accomplished is an option in the windows OS called sticky keys it lets you repeatedly simulate the left or right click of the mouse. There is no program needed at all. Now with botters they use skills and pick up items because thats what the program is designed to do.

Leechers are useful for 2 things:
1. a meat shield
2. getting favor

Definately bots, I had 3 of them all shoooting at me striaght into the hillside. Happen to have my ritualist and was able to put up a jack frost and back away. They all stayed put shooting at jack until he finally went away then the went to next target. I have found if you take presents on the outside routes they ignore you. Was on a team with two bots and two humans and sadly the bots played better than some people i have played with.

They will not get a present even after a group of them kill the carrier. They will shoot into a hillside for the whole game if you let them. They stay in the middle unless you get within range.

God I hate bots

Again... I really don't know if that is proof that they are bots. MANY people who play snowball arena really are just that dumb and bad.

They are spamming attack skills because they think the objective of the game is to kill people.

They are spamming attack skills into a hill because they probablly have never played a caster or ranger and don't understand the concept of line of sight. Many of these idiots probablly think you are "hacking" somehow and complaining loudly because they are unable to damage you.

They don't pick up presents because they don't know the rules or what to do if they do pick up a present (ie, people walking towards the wrong base).

If they are using both snowball and mega snowball during their spam then they are probablly real players.

....

Now, I'm not saying all reports about bots are erroneous. Some of you probablly have seen a real bot. I know I have seen a few. But I, in no way, have seen as many as you people are claiming. Just like the apparent "syncing problem," its blown way out of proportion.

depends on the districts your in. american districts dont have as many, but any other ones, you'll see plenty of bots. its also pretty noticeable the difference between a bad player and a bot. i'm pretty sure all the ones i've reported have all been bots. i've literally had two bots do the same exact thing at the same exact time on my team.

Bud, I don't declare "bots" randomly.

Even players that don't understand english at least make some unintelligible comment from time to time, or know how to ping stuff like "I'm using XXXX on XXXX!" This one guy I got stuck with was obviously a bot. We went 6 rounds with him and throughout he did not once speak, ping or pick up a single present. He would follow one guy throughout and only attack when an enemy came into his radar. In the end we decided to leave because we didn't want to earn points for this botter.

In case you're thinking that he's just a bad player, his name is well known in fort aspenwood. D**** L H****** is a notorious leecher there.
