Installing vs. Downloading..

After downloading the game, and using a trial key from a friend, I decided to buy the GOTY edition of Prophecies. So, now I have my account and everything and have been playing for a week or so, and I begin to wonder.

Would it be better to uninstall the downloaded assets and re-install from my CDs? Would I get better load times? Meaning, is the stuff I'm downloading when I enter a new area already loaded on my PC when I install via the CD? If so, I'm going to do that, to save on time and such.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

1. The data on the guildwars.com server is more up-to-date than the CDs.

2. For a complete download of all areas (which does away with long loads in new areas) follow the instructions for using the -image command line on the wiki http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Command_line

Do that overnight or when you are away from home as it can take several hours.

3. After that initial complete download, just repeat the -image exercise occasionally to make sure you keep up-to-date.

Yeah but he downloaded the game, the client, even if he downloads the game and dosent even own it, he has EVERYTHING, everything in the entire game is in the client he downloaded and used for his trial account. No need to reinstall IMO, -image IS however useful like other guy said, to reduce loading times because he never visited those other areas.

His client he downloaded and im sure patched.. has everything. You can download the client, patch it and go out and gradually buy the campaigns, all you do is add access to other areas of the "client" by adding the keys to your online account.
