Hi obsidian armor owners and other farmers and thanks for looking into this thread!

My question is rather simple: I am in doubt about what prof is better for farming - perma sin or 55 hp Monk?

The reason I am asking it is that I havent played GW for a while and now, when I am back I realized that my warrior that have beaten only Propecies, more than half of Factions, and a half of Asura cant make a decent amount of money i tried a lot of places but they all seem to be unefficient and UW also, cause it's rather long and the income is sometimes low ( warriors can do only smite runs) (although i have all coolest elites an skills across all GW
chapters).
So what would you ( experienced farmers) recommend for farming purposes - perma sin or 55 hp Monk - and also i would like to know which of them is cheaper and faster to lvl up. But the price isn't so important because the outcome will be great.

Thanks in advance.

i'd go with perma sin if you are only concerned with farming - even with the recent Shadow Form nerf, you can still make a decent amount of money with them doing UW speed clears, etc. And it would be easy to level in factions and then boxing in EOTN. then get yourself a run to TOA.

55 cannot be compared with anything. its absolutely BAD at this point in time. the only thing i use a 55 for these days is AtfH NM/HM runs, which are like 2k each so u can make like 12 or 14k depending if you run a hero, in 5 minutes or so. other than that, perma!!!

Given those two options, Perma Sin of course, 55 is dead.
But imho I think you should make a monk and use as a 600 rather than a perma sin, you can farm almost every dungeon with them as well as DoA, part of UW and all the rest of it. On top of that, if you want you can still use it for 55 ^^

By the way, as far as leveling is concerned, either. To get to level 20 these days all you have to do is get to Gunnar's Hold or whatvere its called and do the Fronis Irontoe dungeon, it takes something like 20 minutes or less per run and you get 8kxp I think, its the quickest way imo to level 20 and even the legendary survivor if your interested in that

honestly if you are going to use a monk to farm make it a 600 and use a smite hero.

600>perma>55

I honestly don't unterstand how to farm with 600/smiter.
The tank role is clear to me but the smiter has no energy management because holy wrath takes all the energy so fast. Has anybody farmed in that team? Btw i looked into monks thread and pvxwiki but there is nothing about managing smiter's energy while he maintains 3 enchants??

At first I didn't understand either, but for Holy Wrath you merely Lose 10 Energy per reflection of damage. You don't have to have 10 energy. You can stay at zero Energy and Holy Wrath continues to deal Damage.

Personally I like using my Mesmer/Mo Hero to be my smite Bonder.

55 farming isnt really dead - its over shadowed by its 600/smite counterpart.
Best advice i can give is - get 55 build which is usefull for farming undead in nm - yes nm because of soj and splitting and is gd for event trophy farming ( i always start early for orr embs etc ) as you seem to get more trophies in nm.
Also get both builds for 600/smite as this will be your main earner - uw nm/hm , fow , and almost anywhere else in hm.
thing with 600/smite is in nm it dont give 100% effect where in hm it does - nm foes hit lower dmg and 600 relies on spirit bond to heal which it wont do ).
As for quickest to level - i always go for nf chr over factions chr
1. Nf chr can easily reach lvl10 in a few hrs with scrolls and jump str8 into eotn where canthan chrs have to do primaries till the reach kaineng then jump to eotn ( eotn for punchout ).
2. nf char can easily reach kaineng and tyria well before a canthan can - nf can after reaching istan ... say 30 mins into game and getting the taxis he needs.
3. Im gonna get flamed for this bit - nf has heros you can take advantage of and by time you reach eotn you gain another 3 so u can have 4 at eotn outpost - so lvl 10 with 3 lvl 20 heros isnt bad. Also taxi to docks in nf and get the olias quest and taxi to tyria and u have another hero.

1 other thing - with a 55 monk its possible to run gates of kryta mission , d`allessio seaboard mission , fahranur ( istan ) for a small sum or go mo/n and use ss or sv where 600/smite have limitations on build the 55 can adapt.
