Hero Micromanagement Improvement
[DE]
Suggestion: Create a keybind option that switches your skillbar with your "Hero #1's" for the next key stroke. Create two more of the same keybind option for your 2nd and 3rd hero slots. Lastly, have your cancel key [preset is the Escape key] switch back your skillbars.
What it Does: Allows you to quickly and efficiently micro your 3 heroes while freeing up hotkeys on your keyboard
Why It Should Be Implemented: Having more control over your heroes can allow for more micro heavy gameplay where the user is more so in control than the hero; hopefully promoting skillful play
Main Reason for Suggestion: Giving quicker and easier access to a heroes skillbar should help to improve the state of Hero Battles. Even if your team has been build wars'd against, good use of micro can help to even the playing field; hopefully promoting skill over gimmicks.
Possible Problems: Heroes already have some big imbalance issues that need to be worked out; providing easier means to micro them could further increase this problem. I personally don't think this should be a problem, but it's a possibility.
I'm open to suggestions, comments, helpful feedback, etc.

I wonder if there will ever be a thread where someone doesn't say, " /signed but it will never happen"
Oh yeah, and a lot of the imbalances with heroes have to do with their non-existant reaction time, so allowing you to control them wouldn't make those problems worse, because obviously people have reaction times.

i don't know, if you can tie keys together, people will think of ways to put that on super elite keyboard or something. plus i don't code, so i can't tell you exactly how, just think of the HFFF botters.
still /not signed.
ps: it is already an option to assign keys to order your heros.

I thought about botters and I think that they could have abused the system as it is right now just as much as they could abuse my proposed change; obviously bots only need to use just the essential keys to get their tasks done; meaning they can afford to have their keybinds being a mess, sprawled all over the keyboard.

creative idea that can level the playing field a bit

That does sound useful. They can also put a toggle on the screen to switch your skillbar w/ your other heroes which would be easy if you already have all your keybinds full.
Or they can do it like in NWN1 where you press ALT or CTRL to open up and use your other skills like "ALT + 1" uses hero #1's 1st skill and so on.

What I was thinking is that you have a specific button for each skill set you want to use. One for you and ones for hero 1, 2, and 3 and you hit the individual button and your numbers 1-8 are now whoevers skill bar you chose. Yes it could get frustrating if you accidentally hit one of the buttons but you would be able to disable it.

Why not just a key to change your bar to Hero #1, #2, or #3? Then you wouldn't have to toggle on each time if you want to use more than one skill in a row.
Like, key [x]+7 is Hero #1's skill slot in 7.
Key [y]+3 is Hero #2's skill in slot 3.
Right? Then instead of the next keystroke, you can just hold it and control your hero until you let go.

My suggestion is meant for a quick switch to cast an important skill or two and then right back. Minimizing keystrokes while micromanaging is important (unless you're trying to cheat out an APM program =/) and having the keybind switch right back to your bar after you select a skill is the best way to minimize it.
Now, if when you switched bars then the AI took over your bar, the suggestion of keeping the heroes skillbar on your own would be much more effective. But I don't like the idea of the AI using my skills while I'm micro'ing my heroes.

Hm, what if you take full control of your Hero, such as you take over the hero's view, the kiting, the skills and such. Basically same as controlling your character, just with the hero. Meanwhile your character stands there like an idiot, just to balance it out.
Yeah, that would be harder to implement, I know. Still, /sign for your idea.
