Losing Jade Quarry counts as a death

I started playing Jade Quarry a couple of days ago and have not yet been killed by any NPC or opponent. I have however lost some matches. I went in with 0 deaths and now notice that I have 7. Has anyone else experienced the same? I did a quick search on guru and on guildwars.wikia, but there is no mention of this "side effect" to losing.

Maybe it has something to do with the dying bit at the end of the match.

What Mc Rit said.

Also, a) why would you take a suvivor into PvP
and b) this is deliberate to PREVENT people from taking a suvivor into PvP. Otherwise people could just afk it via hanging around in the protected start area.

I'd hardly call it PvP however yeah, taking a survivor into areas like that IS pretty stupid.

I disagree with the 2nd part of your post though, it doesn't make much sense.
Why would Anet delibratly implement a system that destroys said persons survivor track in order to discourage them from playing in the arena. There are no advantages in talking a survivor character in the arena over a character who has died before, so there is no logical reason to implement a system to try and prevent this.

As for the loitering in the start area to avoid being killed and having the title destroyed, this doesn't make sense either. If said person wanted to AFK there, all they would have to do is to create another non-survivor character or wait until they had finished their survivor title. So again it doesn't make a great deal of sense to implement the death when you lose system solely to discourage survivor characters from playing.

I'm not entirely sure why they DO have the system there, maybe it is just for effect or maybe it is for some other reason, who knows but I really doubt that it is there for the survivor reason.

I took my Necro Legendary Survivor in, so the deaths are not an issue. I was more surprised about the fact that Anet makes it count as a death.
