knocklocking = perma kd chains.

quarterknocking is KDing them within 1/4 sec of them getting up so they can't even cast a 1/4 second spell like RoF. Which = shutdown.

So if you can chain quarterknocks, it's the same thing as knocklocking then?

A knock locked character is especially vulnerable, as they have very limited means to defend themselves.

Quarter knocking is when you keep another character on the ground (by various knockdown skills) and only allowing minimal time not on the ground. A successful quarter knock will keep a character above the ground for less than a 1/4 of a second, and therefore cannot use any skill. This gives quarter knocking its name. Quarter knocking is effective against any profession, but is most advantageous when used on monks. Keeping a monk quarter knocked allows a warrior and his team to pressure/spike the monk without allowing him to throw up many 1/4 second prots, such as [[spirit bond], [[protective spirit], or [[reversal of fortune]. Quarter knocking is mostly done on hammer warriors, but warriors with [[shock] and [[bull's strike] can sucessfully quarter knock a target as well.

So in the end, it looks like they both have the same result which is shutdown. It's just that with quarter knocking, they're not on the ground 100% of the time. (Correct me if I'm wrong here)

yes, the result on both is the same. when you quarterknock you are essentially knocklocking since a quarterknock requires at least 2 kd's which is basically what knocklocking is. if you knocklock, you don't have to quarterknock. quarterknockin is basically what defines between a good and bad player when it comes to knocklocking.

Knock Locking is a knock down chain and the person might be able to squeeze through a 1/4 second skill.

Quarter Knock is when the knock down chain interrupts even 1/4 second skills.
