Balthz for predictions?
Silvia Shadowback
I just read in another thread that you could make predictions to win balthz faction? How does this work? You place a bet on best guild and 1v1er, and where do you make these predictions? Could someone give me the link to a thread explaining this because im sure it must exist even though I couldn't find it.

No you don't win Balth faction. You win reward points, which you can use with Tolkano. And while Tolkano does exchange reward points for an item that can give Balth faction, it isn't worth the high cost of points.

how about advice on how/who without having to study past results?
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=14
because this sounds like it requires a lot of work to make anything
like a realistic prediction....I'm not looking for something for nothing
but how are you supposed to know who is likely to win with the number
of possibilities....
Or is it like playing the lottery for someone doing it casually?

You could always look for the prediction threads in here and here, to see what others are doing(check out the ones for Dec). And there's always this that zwei2stein made(it's safe to download/use).
But if you're not willing to make a casual effort to look for those threads, watch them in Obs mode or even look at the past results, then its nothing but wild uneducated guessing. Or at least until you've gone enough rounds that you begin to recognize names.
Not really. A ton of players making predictions aren't into PvP at all, no clue who those players are or any of the builds/gimmicks/behaviors of anybody/anything in the tournaments. And they get by just fine, with minimal effort.
Doesn't cost you anything, so might as well just do it.

Never a stupid question.
I don't PvP at all.
I do the GvG predictions based on rankings on the guildwars.com site. I take the top ten who have qualified by the Friday before the tournaments and stick them into my prediction list.
For the 1v1 (Hero Battles), it's even worse as they constantly change their names. I normally look at the thread in our Gladiator's Arena to see if anyone has made any guesses. But basically, this one is more like throwing darts at a list.
You get 5pts (1 key) just for entering and can usually end up with more. Most common cause of failure is not posting your picks in time. Keep track of which weekend is scheduled and remember that GvG begins Saturday and 1v1 on Sunday.
If you made your picks early, you can always revise them if you see new qualifiers on the rankings lists.

What do I do with the keys?
Do they have a value of their own?
Sell them?
Or open a chest myself and sell what I get?

Hi
Sorry about posting this, but couldnt find a thread about it
So here is my question, how does predicting rly work. Cause I heard I should vote on Rebel Rising etc, and there are some names on guildwars.com aswell, but when I want to make my preditions those names arent there
So could someone please tell my how this works, who are good guesses to vote on, or give me a link of an excisting thread?
Thnx in advance!

They don't qualify until towards the end of the month, then add them.

Every Month in the GvG section of guru someone posts a mAT prediction thread. You can get a lot of ideas from that. So check there around the 20th of each month. Predictions have to be made by the 25th of most months if I'm not mistaken.

I would suggest using the XTH program on the community works forum, I got my highest ever amount of zkeys using it. That and check the predictions themselves at the threads provided. you should generally be aiming for GvG because 1v1 is a free for all and VERY hard to predict.
As for the value of the keys, if you have less then 500k - sell more then 500k - keep. Or if you are lazy keep them. Absolutely do not use them unless you are going for the title (and you need few a bit to even get the first rank of zaishen)

Just take a guess just because someone did well last month does not mean they will do well this month , I randomly pick names and am always pleasantly surprised when I get reward points , it costs you nothing and you end up with Zkeys worth 5K each , so you can't really lose out
Ariena Najea
I've only been doing this for a couple months, and I could be wrong, but I believe that the site automatically lists the guilds in the order of the current ranks. I just dragged #1 to #1 and so on, and got 80 point last month, worth 16 z-keys. Requires far less work than scanning a thread, however, you are probably better off taking the time if you really care about getting those keys.

good idea?
5P ( same as 5K right ? ) is pretty much a set rate?
and I gather it's a one a month thing, so I have a while before it
hits.... right?
