Hi all, did a search with as many parameters as I could think of, but nothing matched. Just bought a new 'puter with:
Intel Dual Core Pentium E2220 2.4 ghz
2gb ram
Vista Home Basic
Intel G45/G43 Express Vid card (came with...) 128 mb
Have not encountered this on previous P4 2.66 ghz machine, but every single time the zone loading screen comes up, the comp flicks to the desktop (or whatever else is up in front of it as if I had hit minimize) then comes right back and game plays normally. No other negative symptoms...this is it. While it doesn't affect gameplay, it drives me stark raving mad. Have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers for vid card, fresh GW install.
Ideas?

GW minimizes, then full-screens every time I zone...

This sounds like what anyone would say as a generic comment but this time I really mean it. Check for spyware

as well as spyware/viruses,keyloggers, check your video drivers and consider getting a proper gaming card as intel cards don't have the capacity to handle graphics intensive apps, and 128Mb is a bit on the low side for vista.
Because of the way vista handles graphics, it's best to have the 3d graphics enabled. With home basic you don't have this option and so vista tends to hog your graphics card for system ram and push video processing onto the CPU which is going to have detrimental effects. consider either getting vista home premium or XP.

Consider buying an actual graphics card, since you don't have one. What you have is an integrated chipset.

                    try a different graphics driver
as well as possibly search for updated monitor drivers
also try playing at a different resolution and see if that changes anything
(is ur game resolution the same as ur desktop resolution?)

                    Thanks for responses...
Did try changing resolution, but both were 1024x768.
I know it's an integrated chipset, new card comes in a week :-p
Cleaned with Spybot & Ad-aware.
Updated drivers for display adapter and monitor.
Interestingly, when I click auto-detect on the options panel, it does the same thing. Anyone else ever experience this?
