Best way to get the current market value for any crafting materials is to check the price at the material trader, subtract 100g, and figure fair value is somewhere in between.
For iron ingots right now, the material trader is selling 10 for 190g and buying 10 for 90g (you don't actually have to have any ingots in your inventory to figure this out, the buying price is pretty consistently 100g less). So fair market value for a single iron ingot would be between 9g and 19g each. People will probably be charging about 15g each for them, because it's in the middle and an easy multiple of five.
You can do this with any common material to figure out the current market price.
