Post-nerf SF.

After the nerf to the SF, I been getting told it's impossible for a assassin primary to maintain SF anymore so it's impossible to perma SF anymore for areas like UW or FoW. I been reading PvX but I fear most of them are outdated due to the nerf. I found a build that talks about post-nerf SF which is:

[build prof=A/E dag=10+3 sha=12+1+3 crit=8+3][Glyph of [email protected]][Deadly [email protected]][Shadow Form][Golden Fox Strike][Golden Fang Strike][Death Blossom][Asuran Scan][Critical Agility][/build]

I am wondering if this build works for areas like UW and FoW. I started playing assassin and spent over 200k on it couple days before the SF nerf so it would be a bit sad if my assassin that I made for farming isn't a good option anymore.

I still use the normal sliver build for farming the UW, just set your Shadow arts as high as you can, with a superior rune of shadow arts and also bring both a zealous dagger of enchanting and a zealous scythe of enchanting, along with your normal staff of enchanting. Hit with the dagger when only facing one guy and when you are near a group hit with the scythe, watch your energy and you will be just fine.

The main difference is now you have to be on top of things and hope that you don't lag.

Make sure you dont attack the axxte because they have deadly riptose and zealous daggers is almost a must now

I use a zealous spear of enchanting so I dont have to switch weapons. Energy is fine.

Perma SF is still completely possible for sin primary since the nerf. You can even manage it at 15 shadow arts if you are really careful.

The build you posted works in many places but I don't think I would use it in UW because of the aatxes. Even if you don't attack them directly, death blossom can trigger their deadly riposte and you would take some damage from the mindblades' anti hex spell if you use asuran scan on them. But it is a useful build for many other places.

sf is still completly maintainable . the problem is energy, but still, good players can still use it with no problems , though if you are asking about uwsc, i wouldn't recommend it after this nerf , it was 60% failure cause of bad players BEFORE this nerf, and after it , well, you should know the answer.

i find it easier to use my enchanting weapon switch to a zelous 15% while enchanted weapon, then go back to a zelous +5 energy of enchanting weapon. The problem most people face is going striaght in to UW2 or something and thinking that they can do it. i just sat in linnok courtyard and did the sequence til i knew it

Hey guys! I have a question along these lines... I've found the perma sf with sliver to be very good for raptors... In normal mode the sliver form does 11 damage per hit to the broodmother. The only way it kills her is because of all the nestlings aggro'd. Without them it's a lot harder for me to kill her.

What my question boils down to is how do i kill an aatxe that probably has more armor and health? Does asuran scan add to the damage? I'm pretty new to this as you've probably figured out. Any tips would be much appreciated!

I belive i have about 50 energy. Here's how I do it with the raptors: I first use glyph of swiftness, then DP and then SF. Then I glyph of lesser energy then viper's defense and then sliver. This consists of one "round" of maintaining. I am able to continue this indefinately. I'm hoping that this can take out the Aatxes and graspers, not to mention the smiters.

Sorry if this ins't the right place to ask this but in ToPK, why do I keep losing 4 energy every now and then? I'm kinda new into SF farming but I'm sure I'm doing it right! I'm using A/E btw

That's why. Some of the same enemies in UW you find in ToPK.

It is a good idea to not attack anything that uses [fear me]. Target others around them 1st. Unless of course you are soloing in UW in which case you need to attack the Darknesses and not the Aatxes. Just make sure you are using zealous weapons to overcome the energy loss.

It's just 1) harder to maintain (only 3 or so seconds to recast) and 2) more energy consuming due to the smaller maintaining length.

If you use the dagger perma sf build you will want this for your daggers:

Zealous
I have the Power! (+5 energy)
of Enchanting

If you use a non-dagger build, then you can use the above minus the Zealous mod, or use a Staff to be 20/30/20 - that is Adept Staff head, Of Enchanting, with an "Don't Think Twice" inscription (20/40/20 won't be helpful as you mainly need it for Shadow Form, which doesn't have an attributed weapon) - or max energy (Insightful Head, of Enchanting, and Have Faith inscription, which gives +20 energy, +20% enchanting, and 20% HSR on the staff.

Go for max energy runes as well due to energy issues. Should with the pre-nerf version, but still, a reminder. Thank you for the detailed tips.

I heard the buff to [hundred blades] makes [shadow form] useless so the first build I posted doesn't work at FoW correct?

Going to try this build that I found at PvX at FoW beach later.

Whether or not attacks hit, [[Hundred Blades] still triggers its bonus damage, which cannot be blocked and hits right through SF.

i run this all the time and it work great. with the "nerf" to SF, you just need to gain more energy. the downtime on the attack skills really isn't a problem and [Critical Agility] pretty much stays up the whole time. [Golden Lotus Strike] is also on option instead of [Black Lotus Strike] but is less damage. remember, the biggest problem is energy.

p.s. you MUST have 16 in shadow arts.

With the new Hundred Blades you will want to have a bonder to reduce damage and heal you. Going solo against a mob of HB in hm will eat you without it.
