There is already 2 sci fi games being made this year which ae Star Trek Online and as some mentioned StarGate..I would hope they work more on the current game being GW.

Same with players. No info = no interest. The only possible business reason to not release info is if there is none, thats all. |

I would have liked to see them retool Tabula Rasa more along GW1 lines -- but that's just me: buy it once, play it forever, offer occasional expansions for a price, maybe even throw in some "Heroes" for good measure.
![]() Poor TR. It had potential but was just overpriced. |
if TR is buy the game and play for free forever like Guild Wars (hint arena net) i buy it.

Find one person that has ever said "I want GW2 now".
You won't. Because all we want is a proof that GW2 exists, even in Alpha stage. |
I dont know why you guys are all so much more excited and impatient about GW2 than we are, and you call us fanboys?

lol what is p2p :P~

If a-net never works on GW2. I'll lose all hope for man kind.

you're looking at them, 39 months to be exact.
actually i don't have to know that, lol, but p2p is probably why it has failed according to some players.

Is it a big deal to not know what certain things mean anymore?
By the way, F2P= Free 2 Play
P2P= Pay 2 Play
This was on the side note if it wasn't sarcasm.

Basically An MMORPG, That would be Also Non-Instanced, but that would have more instanced areas too. One with: The concept of PvPvE ( LARGE Scale numabers of players facing off agaisnt eachother, just like a real war!
) Being to Fly, More Creatures, More Creative Places, One That would get all of the attention out there! iwch means new content always being added and all. Basically... The Perfect MMO :P Wich i have always dreamed of
A Game that can truly make you feel like youre in another world and not in a game
Man That woudl rock so much! Is amazing how technology nowadays explores so much :P

If GW2 was I would love to have a "Sorrow's Furnace" kind of update...

What are the advantages to not releasing ANY information? Not a single screenshot? Diablo 3 probably still won't be out for a year or 2, but at least they're keeping the community updated. I understand if they don't want to share huge gameplay elements if they might change, but I'm sure there have to be some things set in stone that they can tell us.

.
I think they just want the GW1 players not to have any conceived ideas or expectations based on the information that they are releasing and later disappoint them because they could not make a feature work.
Just to give you an example, Diablo III as you mentioned is going to be released way after starcraft. Even now, there are some core players from the first Diablo games that are disappointed because the game is not as dark as it used to be.
When Blizzard first released the gameplay videos, fans noticed that the darkness in Diablo’s graphics has been replaced with a bluish color. They even created a petition to redesign the game and make it more gothic.
I think that's precisely why anet is not releasing any information, trying to avoid disappointment. Once the game is completed, pretty much it will stay like that.

More expansions please.
A Norn, Asura, Charr expansion off the top of my head, then how about a Factions Kurzick/Luxon expansion then Nightfall Lightbringer expansion. Plenty of room to expand if more money is needed. Would also keep players interested.
Expand story lines for existing chapters, there is even room for a last expansion called realm of the gods.
These don't have to be huge can be small ones at a cost of 25 bucks. Anet should know by now their GW fans will buy.
If you make it they will buy. Just don't flub it all up with more skills balance seems hard enough as it is, add content and new armors.

i'd want them to make a game just like Guild Wars, except for more exploring and make it harder to get rare weapons. Also, making the weapons look realistic, especially for the era which the game was made.

rather than receive criticism when the game is at or near to release, when u wont have time to improve on the criticism until a much later patch update?
knowin anet tho, they prolly dun want to bother to fix anything

Let's consider the possible scenarios here. What quickly emerges is that regardless of the health of GW2, ANet isn't going to work on other projects. This thread is therefore pointless and should be locked.
Logic suggests three possible cases:
1) ANet is cynically bleeding the revenue stream for everything it is worth. They have no plans to actually release GW2 and are not actually working on it, but require its hypothetical existence to continue to sell copies of GW.
2) ANet is working on GW2, but their finances are shaky. Businesses typically have to refinance their revolving debt annually, and this is a lousy business climate for that. ANet will be/has been unable to do so, and will be/has been compelled to either pay down debt, shorten the time horizon to release, or remove assets from the production of GW2 in order to satisfy creditor demands.
The more optimistic scenario people are counting on:
3) ANet is working on GW2 and is stable enough to produce and market the game without running out of cash and ability to service existing debt.
Let's reason through this:
1) Possible, but you would think that ANet's most efficient move here would be to release content similar to EoTN - moderately priced with moderate development cost. Repeat until the marketing people tell you it will not be profitable to release another expansion. (Of course, it may be possible that EoTN was not a financial success for ANet due to player base decay, and that's where we're at.)
2) Seems probable if you sit down and do some back-of-the-envelope math on likely development costs for GW, the rate ANet is probably burning through cash on employees and incidentals, their revenue to date from GW, and account for the fact that the parent company has made some poor business decisions. If that's the case, your strategy probably looks something like this:
a) Get something out the door ASAP to get revenue that keeps the ship afloat. Don't try to make graphics innovations or major interface overhauls. Alter mechanics to improve the game, as alpha playtesting is comparatively inexpensive.
b) Accept the PR hit for putting out something substandard (relative to other publishers) at release.
c) Use the cash to try to fix the problem and pull off something akin to what EVE did.
d) Keep everything under a shroud of silence. Releasing graphics does you no good because they are not top-shelf and people will be disappointed. Releasing mechanics just lets the competition copy your concepts.
3) If that's the case, there's no reason to avoid showing off your whiz-bang graphics and concept art. Keep mechanics overhauls silent, but try to generate buzz among your player base by showing them how shiny and fresh everything will look when the new game comes out.
The evidence tends to suggest that #2 is what's going on. Doesn't mean that GW2 will be a bad game. Probably does mean that at least some of the community is going to be upset...but that will happen unless ANet hits a complete home run anyway.

wow this thread gets off topic very quickly...
ok what I would like to see is
a new update for sorrows furnace, be it new enemies, new weapon drops, new quests. Make it more like the Deep and Urgoz with a gigantic boss battle at the end.
A couple new armor sets, I do not like many of the mesmer armor skins, except one elite but that's pricey, so maybe make up a few good looking cheap sets.
hopefully they balance all the crazy skills [glares at shadow form]
I would like to see some sort of update like a few more missions. Preferably in the Tyria campaign. I know tyria has 25 missions already, but those missions are the most fun and don't seem so much as a chore to complete.
and finally
i know this is stretching it kinda long but...
I wanna see a new profession! Not for a new game but for an update. Like maybe something along the lines of a sculptor, like a cross between a mesmer and a ritualist. Sounds fancy no? or like in Final Fantasy tatics, how there was books as weapons, maybe we could have a profession that hurts people using words or insults and such? ok that idea seems kinda dumb but whatever I likes it!
oh and Viva La Guild Wars 2

Okay, this thread is so full of... nothing coherent from people complaining about grammar, p2p, vaporware, other games and more that I think it's time to close it. Not to mention that this is more of a "suggestion" thread and should have probably been in Sardelac.
