I think that being able to staff a guild hall with basic merchants, dye vendors, maybe a storage merchant would be nice. Also, being able to hire defenders (guards that walk around) would be cool. They could be lvl 5 at start, and have the lvl upgrades cost more and more. Another thing to consider would be increaseable defenses. Why not add a gate that could be attacked, so that the defenders have a little time to regroup should the need arise. Maybe additions like towers with scopes that let you zoom in on the enemy. Workable catapults that cost like 5k per shot, but can be targeted to some extent. Or mercenaries that can be hired (but cannot outnumber) the defenders guard. The ability to buy towns people, that add to the realism of it, it could add a goal to the attackers, kill the peasants, and a goal to the defenders, usher the peasants to safety. They could add towers for the defenders (they wont do a lot of damage, but can be upgraded with additional mages to boost their attack power, and also be used by players until the defenders enter the castle. There are so many ways they could make customizable guild features, so that you could never have a reason not to need gold. They could add a tournament ability like HoH that rewards the guild with additional upgrades that they may purchase.
I know these Ideas are piled into a blob, but I really think if anyone else likes them, submit them with me. If anything, add feedback, but please refrain from flaming
And I'm not sure if this is in the right section, so... sorry. Thanks, my email is [email protected] if you want private comments.

Custom guild hall additions?

I believe you need to play Stronghold.

I liked (and still do) some of your ideas, but then I thought about server load. Of course the world is instanced for the player in many cases, but think about all the added server stress of "Bob The Dye Man Walking Past Shemp The Guard, Oops, They Collision Detected Wrongly And Walked Into The Clouds".
I dunno. And if a guild hall is instanced for guild members ONLY, as I keep being told, wtf good are guards? In case you start dragging guild memebers to yoru trash can in a mad bid for dominance???

This sounds like the request of someone who has never played a Guild Battle. You get NPC defenders, you get a gate. The point is to kill the enemy Guild Lord, and if you're doing that you don't have time to worry about peasants.

And something that is on topic: That would be intresting but then it might make the guild battles unbalanced, some people can get money a lot faster, thus they can upgrade the guild halls a lot more, even though they arn't that high of level, or don't do that much damage, it can still make a differnce.

If they cannot make money fast, how would they be large enough to even do HoH or get a sigil from an auction? Yes, I know you get dinky guards, but Im talking more like guards that you could armor with extra equipment (why not?) I have been in many a guild battle, and I will continue to enjoy them. They just need to add more to the function of guild halls besides wandering around staring at the same stuff. (The dye was a lil extreme) The servers should be able to handle the load, and the merchants wouldnt wander.
