Exile Run
"Why don't we just run there and kill him?", RizbizWell that's the gist of it. Run to boss, kill boss, get chest.

1. Intro
This guide currently is a work in progress, it wasn't intended to be released this early, but my hand has been forced...
Before the last Shadow Form nerf it was easy to run secondary Assassins. This caused us to reshuffle and tailor skills. Now, while it's possible to boost SA to 14 or 15 it makes more sense to be Assassin primary.
People can be ran through these dungeons to complete the quest, just make them go secondary assassins with a running build so they can pickup chest after it is spawned. Duncan is the only chest worth picking up by people being run (except Thommis).
1a. Equipment:
Armor:
Full radiant set w attunement. Use the feather farm and id all the blue armors to get your runes.
Weapon 1:
Enchanting Staff with +15e. Preferably you meet the rec, as you'll probably be using it to attack. This is your running set, also used to attack undead.
Weapon 2:
Enchanting Spear +5e. Offhand (meet the req) with -1/+15e. This is a high energy set that only the tank really needs. You'll only need it once every couple runs but it's worth having, as Rezzing is near impossible and when the tank goes down, usually the team must sac die... so don't die :-)
Weapon 3:
Zealous Enchanting Scythe +5e. This is the most useful weapon for all the SF builds. Use whenever you can for oodles of energy. Ball up and target minions whenever you can as they don't block.
Weapon 4:
Zealous Enchanting Daggers +5e. When only one enemy remains switch from your Scythe to daggers...
Essence of Celerity:
This is the cornerstone of the builds. You'll be needing lots of feathers. I Farm Tengu with this build [link]. It's always a good idea to have an extra Celerity on hand in case things take too long.
Wait until all players are alive/loaded before using.
Scroll of Resurrection:
While we haven't used scrolls of resurrection in our runs, as we've been mostly working on builds, that isn't to say we couldn't have used them at some points. You won't be able to use one in the middle of two summit groups but you could use one for example when the tank dies on the boss and a rebirth is possible.
Teamspeak:
While we didn't use it as we all knew what we were doing. In some situations it would have very useful to have. If guilds are going to setup full time Exile Runners, Teamspeak might be essential.
Internet Connection:
You'll need a fast internet connection with little to no lag. When running amongst some of those large groups, lagging out can kill you, which makes a slower time/DP for everyone else.
1b. Getting There.
Okay, I've been in too many a VS farm where the Sin Dies on the run to slavers, to take it for granted that people know how to get there.
Personally I have QZ up for the the first group, then head to the right of the second group. Running right to the wall (not agroing the second group). The first group should break off, Renew your SF, and you can wall hug and run past the second group without agroing. Then run past third group, to the shrine. After shrine, wait for 4th group don't agro (group by monk boss)(save SF for troll). Then head to bridge past troll. Rest is easy.
1c. General Advice.
Slaver's Run is not for Noobs
Don't complain that you can't run this because it's impossible. It's not, it's just VERY hard. It requires teamwork, and experience, and some good reflexes. Don't PM questions about things covered in the guide. Post relevant questions only please.
Exile AI
The Artificial intelligence in Slaver's Exile is smarter than normal. Some casters (defenders) don't attack right away & the avoid combat (don't try running up to sliver them). Be aware, don't chase them down, as you can frequently push them onto your Ranger/Bonder.
Slivering.
[[sliver armor] is a wicked skill and is very predictable to use once you've used it. Many newcomers to the skill can't seem to use it effectively. Here are some pointers.
Sliver targets high armor first. This is usually the warriors. It can be problematic once the summit Minions are created. The warrior ones are targeted first. So if you stand next to a summit defender, sliver will target that melee minion 1st until it is dead and replaced by a Shambling horror. Sliver is like an AoE, so you can use it to selectively target Casters, and ranged attackers even though sliver would normally target someone else. Just cast sliver, then slowly approach your target on an angle that puts your target 1st. Stop moving once it targets them. Sliver locks onto a target for the duration of that casting, meaning if a target runs from the dmg, if you wand him back it will target it again. This also can be used the other way. You can shadow step to say a defender, who usually runs from you. If you get Sliver off fast enough, the AI will try and heal it's self and not run. Even if higher Armor melee then attack you. Kill regular summit groups in this order (Thommis, Selve):
Melee Priest Defender Zealot (don't attack him) Marksmen Everyone else Summoner is last Kill distractor summit groups in this order (Forge, Rand):
Melee Defender Distractor Blasphemer Heroes
The bonder can easily be run as a hero, just concentrate on keeping up her SF. Set to avoid, and lock targets when you need her to attack. Usually have the other human call, and take the less vigorous role so that it's easiest for everyone. Usually we have the [[death's retreat] for hero, and [[death's charge] for humans.

I'd like to thank;
Rizbiz for working on all the builds with me, couldn't have even come close to doing it without you.
Rothan Celt, though I know you prefer AB, you sure are gifted at making farming builds.
Larcen thanks for helping from the beginning; when it was just a crazy idea, I mean it's impossible right?.
Thanks again for all your help.
u guys rock
Of course thanks to the Guildwarsguru farming community for being a valuable resource for me, and keeping keeping me interested in this game.

Precis:
Tank begins degen. Bonder bonds runner with; [[succor],[[mending], [[watchful spirit]. QZ casts QZ @ bridge. Runner makes run around back to wall. Meanwhile, tank dies at wall. Runner, upon arriving immediately casts rebirth sig. Tank & Runner die, tank accruing no additional DP (hopfully). Wait for Reset. QZ serurects Tank. Bonder bonds all on tank. QZ maintains spirits. Tank kills Thommas group.
Detailed Description:
Tank begins degen. If a spirit is at spawn or just over bridge, you should use that to get your health under 33%, then let degen do the rest. If there are no spirits, the Runner should wait about a minute or so, so the Tank get their health down. A couple SUP runes can help, but when the tank is rebirthed to the other side of the wall switch them back ASAP (in addition to switching your weapon to enchanted.). Die before the Runner reappears on party list.
Bonder bonds runner with; [[succor],[[mending], [[watchful spirit] then stands beside Ranger on the bridge. QZ casts QZ @ bridge. If the first modniir group is right next to the first Summit group, the runner should wait in QZ to recast SF (don't use [[deadly paradox] in QZ), then [["I am unstoppable"] and [[dwarven stability] before leaveing QZ.
The runner should then wait for SF+DS to be recast to agro the rest of the modniir. That way you'll have a full SF to make the corner. At this point agro the modniir & begin Dash, wait as long as possible before casting [["I am unstoppable"]. Concentrate on making it past the shrine and making the turn back to the wall.
Hug the wall on the left so that [[choking gas] doesn't hit you. Recast your SF, and make the rest of the run to wall. Don't worry about keeping Agro to wall.
The Bonder should as soon as the Runner appears GolE and [[heal party] to aid the runner. The Ranger should have up the Rit spirits and QZ for Sin once he appears. Once runner makes run around back to wall immediately casts rebirth sig on tank. Tank & Runner die, tank accruing no additional DP (hopfully). Wait for Reset. QZ serurects Tank. Bonder bonds all on tank. QZ maintains spirits. Tank kills Thommas group in the previous described order [1c.].

1 person grabs key, all run to boss's door, sliver kills wraiths, spawns undead. Whole party wands undead touchers. Sliver kills wraiths, door opens. Spirits and bonds on sliver. Kill boss.
Detailed:
One person runs in and grabs key. Be aware there is a distractor group guarding the key. Best bet is to cast SF before agroing. Watch for choking gas. If you are really messed, next to key you can wall hug to stay away from gas.
Pickup shrine on way to boss.
Bonder can cast succor on Sliver. Sliver runs in and sliver's wraiths. Undead spawn after you kill the crypt slashers. Once they Spawn, tank runs back to bonder and qz who are a safe distance away holding agro on the Summit groups. A death here by the tank is common and doesn't really set back too much time. Just let SF expire and be prepared to cast on ressurect.
Ranger maintains GDW on sliver and bonder (as energy permits). Sliver maintains Ebon, and monk succor on Ranger.
Sliver should call targets. Target the touchers and not the SS. Once touchers are dead, sliver moves in and slivers as good slivers do. Who then slivers rest of wraiths.
This will open the boss door.
Run inside Boss room but don't agro boss group. You can all stand just inside the door, and wall hug so the spirits outside the Boss room don't hit you.
Once a safe place has been found drop SF on all but Sliver.
Bonder maintains all bonds on tank and succor on ranger. Ranger, uses SQ and QZ to get QZ up and running. QZ should be maintainable, once it's up cast up the rest of the spirits. Bonder should have no trouble with energy from Succor as blessed is 1/2 recharge and the spirits for the ranger aren't spells.
Be aware after the boss group is dead, a large bunch of Undead spawn, so start running (away from party) once the chest spawns. Sliver can then pull agro away while rest of party gets chest.
Can be completed with hero, but it requires some good micro managing.

Run to imps, 1 person should pull imps to doorway, where the other two are holding agro. Be careful not to agro the Distractor group [[choking gas] that patrols near their spawn [see fig].
Once imp is in pulled. Place succor on Ranger. Sliver should maintain Ebon. Ranger should maintain GDW on Sliver and Bonder if possible. If the Sliver pulls Imp, sometimes there isn't a summit agro, in which case you can just sliver the imp and save some time.
Once Imp is dead, someone will have to pull the watcher to the doorway. Repeat with the wanding, GDW and Ebon.
Calling targets and following targets is key.
Grab key, run to door, and run through. The Burning Spirits have [[Flame Djinn's Haste] so don't stand still beside them. On the other side of the door is a distractor group. So cast your SF before going through doorway.
Run to boss, pickup shrine on way. Once in boss room, head to the left and avoid agroing Forge group. In the corner there is a run-out corner where you can break agro[see fig].
Occasionally Burning spirits will follow you in to the safe zone. Just have the sliver pickup and lock agro and sliver them. You can bond him then, and GDW him if there are 2+ Burning Spirits.
Once they are dead, the Ranger and Bonder drop SF and place all bonds on sliver and succor on Ranger.
Ranger approaches and places spirits within range of Forge group. The ranger should maintain all spirits. QZ can be kept up indefinitely. Sliver should pull Forge group and avoid the other summit patrol group that is there.
Don't cast [[deadly paradox] inside QZ it isn't needed.
Bonder or Ranger should watch the Blasphemer and call when it is casting [[well of prophane]. Usually it casts [[well of prophane] after the distractor dies.
Because the Distractor has [[choking gas]. While he is alive you must cover all your spells with [[glyph of concentration] or gas will interrupt you.
You should sliver the group in the following order:
Melee
Defender
Distractor
Blasphemer
If the sliver is having issues, they can borrow agro from the other patrol, just be prepared to kill their defender & burning spirits. That other group MUST be in FS or they will res the main group even if they aren't agroed. Also be prepared to keep track of which group is which, as if you pull them into 1 big mob, it's hard to sort out. It's best to avoid them if possible.

5. Rand NM
Looks like we're doing it fairly consistently with 2 assassins right now.
You can see the tank build below. Will post the Ranger build later, as this is just placeholder text.
Because of the massive amount of dmg you can take, and all the knockdowns. It's VERY difficult, and easy to die acouple times, which will just make it worse. So bring lots of anti-DP.
Essentially, the tank runs ahead and scopes out Rand, while the ranger holds above the shrine. If the area to the right of Rand is clear, the tank will run past Rand and hold there (if you wall hug to the right, you can avoid gas aka 'no-gas corner'). To assist in loosing agro, the modniir groups tend to release if the tank moves aboce 'no-gas coner' and goes furthest NE of Rand (aka 'top'). Once the agro has reset, he gives ok for ranger to come in.
The ranger will run in and cast haste in the clear area beside Rand. The Ranger simply runs back down the hill, pulling agro with him. Then cancels haste before SF expires with Serpents Quickness. See photo below.
The tank must then sliver, in the following order, defender, distractor, Rand. If you can keep the melee alive, gj, they'll help against Rand, otherwise he's slow to go down.
While I sliver Rand, I Wand Blasphemer, and when Rand dies I step to the blasphemer in case he casts Profane.
Ranger must keep up QZ and FS, and musn't move. No need for SQ once QZ is up, cast FS right after QZ and you should have lots of Energy. Watch the blasphemer for well of profane. Call it (ctrl+click) if it does.
Of course Rand can be a REAL bugger for spawns and AI, so here's some alternate scenarios we've come across.
1. Upon ariveing tank finds: a spirit is in the 'safe place'. Tank Stands in safe place. Ranger hastes from 'top'
2. Upon ariveing tank finds: a modniir group in the 'safe place'. GL with this one. Tank Stands in safe place. Ranger hastes from 'top'. Most likely you'll have to rezone and try again. Fortunately this is once in a blue moon kinda thing.
Thanks to Dagger and Iguisha for working this out! I'll try and post a vid of the hast to get clear procedure.

6. Duncan HM
Sliver:
[build=Sliver;OwZSk4PT8I6MID5ifVSf8Q4O]
GoS can be used to get to slavers, making this build a perma. But any skill can be subbed in if you feel you can run it in HM without dying.
Mesmer:
[build=Cryer;OwVTE4h9XiHRnBBiF0GcFAB0EAA]
Elementalist:
[build=AoE;OwZSo4PP8IdGyQXMLGr4CcH]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Precis:
Kill the undead between you and great room, ignoring summit. Once in great room, tank picks up agro, avoiding summit and slivers Duncan.
Detailed:
Duncan should be completed with just tank and 2 Mesmer, no AoE but in certain sections it can be very slow as there aren't enough enemies for Channeling to trigger correctly. This is why the ele is there, constant dmg. Or if someone's rank is 0 in Sunspear and Cryway won't work.
Don't even think of bringing a hero here, it's just a waste of time. The AI can't target/gets stuck and spawns pops, and triggers the touchers. Everytime I've brought Zen, she's failed us and I've flagged her at spawn, effectively that makes Duncan possible just as a two man farm.
Like Salve & forge there are undead, except there are LOTS of undead.
There are two types of undead; touchers and SS. We only really need to kill the touchers. If you get within half an agro buble of touchers they will rush up and touch you & you will die. To avoid this unpleasantness this is where you run and break agro :-) Try to run back the way you came as there are lots and lots of undead pops.
The char who know the spawns best and is good at avoiding dying (usually rizbiz) triggers the spawns and pulls them back to ball them up. Ideally it would be the Tank as he can't really do anything until the great room anyways (except maintain Ebon for the others).
See pic for spawn locations [not yet implemented].
Avoid the distractor group.
Once in the great room, assess the spawns of stone summit. if they are overlapping duncan, the mesmer/ele will have to pickup agro and hold it (they heal duncan). Then the sliver runs around picking up up the undead pops then agroes Duncan.
To pickup agro, head left from the entrance to the HUGE bossroom. Undead will pop all over. Make a sawtooth run pattern (90 degree turns) from where they pop. Don't run over them as they will try to touch. In general zigzag to trigger Duncan. If the undead pop around duncan in a bad way, just agro them and pull them far enough that you can run by to Duncan.
Once you attack duncan, GoE then Stoneflesh then sliver. Depending on agro he will die in about 3 slivers :-)

Since the last SF update, me and Tom got really sad, because now its much harder to maintain SF, especially in duncan if there isnt enough mobs around you however its manageable. But yeah message me or tom IGN to work on rand. We have something going but we havent tested it enough so.. Yeah. GL everyone
EDIT: Selve Undead spawn after you kill the crypt slashers (Delayed spawn, so you can teleport out. Tom fix that!!! )

Thanks for writing such a brill guide tom! was a pleasure to 'work' with you on this one
i unfortunately died on our last run and our essence ran out so there was no chance of me making the chest. So i zoned before i got the quest update
If anyone needs assistance on this run then i would be happy to tag along. and get a gnarly drop from that dam chest!

While unfinished and unfortuneatly posted before complete, i'll say the same thing I said in the begining. "While difficult, it can be done and we'll do it." Enough said. Been fun, expensive, but fun!

I just realized I actually am in one of the screens. My bad. That was when I fell victim to some gas. Bah. Anywho, I'm interested in feedback, if/when people start trying these runs.
rizbiz
people will try this, but it will probably take a while because you need to be very skilled at it.. :\ And it costs essences each run you do/skrew up. So it will take a while.
Sacratus Ignis
impressive compiling all that into this pretty guide. Not a suprise to me since rizbiz had told me some about this a while ago and I'd figured out most on my own, but this is a great contribution and will give the skilled sins something to do and the pugs something else to pay 50-100k for haha.

Dear God, this is incredibly ridiculous.

good work Farmer...
Mustache Mayhem
actually I got playing again (used to farm like a madman back in the day- even after the monk bond nerf, I was still able to solo farm the UW smites for ectos)
what I liked about this game is.. there was a clean break in pve between the dingles and people who really thought about thier builds and knew how to apply them
anyways enough of that crap we know this.. anyway I needed to make some money as I had given away most of it on quitting gw.. so I read about slavers exile and the voltaic spear looked like it was a decent chest run.. I got the cry skill on my ele and battle of wisdom and looked for a pug
to my suprise I was picked up rather quick by an assassin.. we get there and he runs inside thommis, does all the work and I echo spam cry.. long story short.. I felt like a noob tick.. you know one of those guys who wishes he was a dingleberry on my ass
so anyway I get on my assassin with heros.. after a few trips I perfect a h/h farm of the chest that's not only way faster than these pugs.. but I actually feel satisfied like back in the day when I used to farm greens\deep uw\elite mission solo- yes I used to farm urgoz with my rit solo when it first came out and got alot of zodiac stuff doing it.. I never post my builds on guru anymore though- because anet used to nerf based on the builds posted here (I know it's selfish but it's true)
like when kephet came out.. I had around 7 of her refuge staffs within around a hour of her release lol selling them 'cheap' 35k pop they went like hotcakes to the gold buyers- I pop in here, post the build and anet tweaked.. yes it was like that.. so for the rest of that day I kept tweaking my own solo farm build and finally they just made her impossible to bomb solo with ints- she all of a sudden could regen faster than the damage taken lol and gayle came in my thread and asked if I could still solo her
that day I never gave out another build here.. and made lots of money doing my own farms- esp when a new green popped up
ok enough, came in here to see if anyone was doing h/h, one guy flat out called me a liar rofl but I'm used to that.. anyways- just sold it.. got a amethyst shield r9 command on one of the runs also (keeping that one though it's perfect)

May I ask why do you need GDW there? You aint going to attack anything just sliver oO
OoO Rift OoO
Id like to say great job. I just got off GW maybe 20 mins or so ago, and all day ive been doing the VS farm.
If you need help, im up for it - even though i doubt you need more people.

Since you are 3maning it to Slaver's 1 of you must have completed, so hopefully 1 has GDW if not, [[I am the Strongest] works well with a high norn.
Still working on guide for Rand...
Sry to whoever I said I'd run last weekend but I didn't get a chance.
Updated guide:
Added link to PVX edition.
Added link to Youtube video :-) yes Larcen you are in it
thanks Rizbiz for spawn info.

Hey first of all I would like to say GJ! I am trying to run the builds also and I could not agree with you more, this is not for the beginning player. I play since beta and this is HARD. But after some tries I have succeeded in doing Thommis and I will try the other ones soon.
Keep up the good work!

This is a great guide. I just completed Forge 3man NM just now with a friend of mine. It took a a little longer since this was our first try and unfortunately we didnt have 2 essences but we were at the boss at that point so it was ok. So we used 2 powerstones since we kept on dieing trying to figure out a few things anyway awsome guide and i cant wait to see what the Rand build will be so i can get this dungeon in my book :P
Keep up the good work farmer and to those who helped create this guide.

Hi all, it's also possible to do Duncan Solo (just modify the tank build posted in first page by A Simple Farmer)
I'll post the build later (i have to speak about it with A Simple Farmer who find it)
I would THK TOM, DAGGER And BLACK for their help, their advices, all ....
We are still working on Rand ...

Yeah, Rand 788ish. Us 1. Give or take. Kind of like science: "It worked! Now lets find a way to repeat it consistently."

Friggin Rand, we may be dying a lot but we're still making progress on it.
@Hammy The Monk, Forge is definitely the easiest. If your Celerity runs out, you can always drop a QZ before you make the run for the safe corner.
Try and avoid the patrol in boss room when you sliver. You have plenty of firepower to kill him without.
@iguish, I'm glad the solo worked for you.

updated builds a bit for forge,
made video for solo Duncan.
will update Duncan page when I have more time.

Rand 789, Team Us 2.9.
--Edit / Update--
Make that Team Us 3.8 :/
Oh! And the updated build I think you meant that for Selve, and I also meant to tell you that Ignite Arrows is bad idea unless someone competent is doing it. Shoot them to fast and the one being hit flees, and you run up if not careful. Nearly ate dirt last night after we discussed it yesterday.

i havnt read all of the posts yet, so i dont know if this was suggested... for Duncan or any other boss, could you possibley make have Everyone run to the farthest possible rez shrine, activate it, and then you can skip all the killing in-between.
Idk if it would be possible, but i've seen that technique used before in other SC's
