Yet another title idea
elk
I'm sure this has been mentioned (it's tough to come up with unique ideas about this game now) but didn't find it in my search of Sardelac (I'm sure someone will be kind enough to scour the section and post a link at some point).
I had been thinking about a guildie I haven't heard from in some time and the way he had "prepared" himself for the release of Factions. Prophecies at that point had all been conquered so he decided that he'd farm the crap out of the Trolls next to Drok's. What he planned to do (and did) was; upon release of Factions, to buy all the skills immediately. This also included some fast tracking through the game to cap all the elites as well. If I recall correctly, Factions hadn't been out more than several days and he had them all. For the sake of consistency, he did this with Nightfall and EOTN.
Now I realize there is a Skill Hunter title but it's solely linked to the elites. Why not the balance of skills? There's 1319 skills in the game where 294 are elite and 1026 are non-elite.
I'm sure this would be a grind fest but there could be a similar 4 title scenario where they are separated by campaign (1 Prophecies & maybe EOTN, 1 Factions, 1 Nightfall to get 1 Legendary "I likes skillz" title or something like that). I would think you'd want the skill hunter title track to interrelate to this so that you wouldn't get the "legendary" title of this idea until complete both elite and non-elite (but you could make them independent too - whatever floats your boat).
It would inflate the cost of tomes so that would boost money sinks and add some life into the economy.
I'm sure folks would consider this a "money" title based on the age of the game and that most folks are probably UAS. That would mean with all the unlocks, folks would just stand at a skill trainer to get the titles (but again would be a money sink). Considering that a skill is going to be @ 1k based on the max scaling, it should be a costly money sink (then again, the almost 5 yrs may have folks with large accumlations of skills on one toon. Especially ones that are PvP ready).

no more titles? you dont want your kobd to be less awesome?
i say /sign, it has no value to anyone and is another title to max. more titles = better. i remember back in 2005 pve kids complained they wanted some sort of ranking system....much like /rank to show how good they are, now you guys have it, and you dont want more of it?
this is why anet dosnt listen to anyone, you cant make up your minds on what you want

please god...kill me now..strike me down..end my life so i may never have to see any more stupid title ideas..id rather be tortured to death by watching a plant grow till i die than to see another title.

If you don't want to go for it then don't.
This is a game, not a job.

a title for capping elites is enough. doing regular skills isn't a challenge because u just have to buy them. maybe if u had to go out and CAP regular skills, but still, there is a title for elite skills which out-does the neccesity for a reg skill title.

while the game is a touch old now and it may seem like it would be just buying them; in therory, someone would have to make it to all the skill trainers and have the 2ndaries unlocked to purchase them all (or have unlocked them all in PvP or tomes) which in itself is a challenge (ok grind fest).
Most trainers don't offer all the skills and would require progression through the game to get to them. But like I said, who doesn't have these places now or the skills unlocked (hence the "purchased" title).

Marty Silverblade
This is purely, start to finish, some pointless money wasting title. /notsigned.
Icy The Mage
No more titles. Like, how hard is progression through the game.. lol? "Oh this title requires skill because you have to almost beat the game on Normal Mode oh noes!! That's not skill at all, and we don't need anymore titles. Money sinks abound, and I'd love to see some actual figures on the money sinks occurring during this festival
Empress Amarox
Not signed for the original idea, but an additional 1 title for having all skills from all professions I'll /sign.
Shadowmoon
I remember when people would this UAX was a big deal, which in essence is this title. A real money sink titles compared to the others. Think its a good idea.
Anduin
We need a questing title. It isn't even open for debate.
Gun Pierson
At this point I can't support any new title idea I have seen so far. Mainly because I think that more grind to achieve less grind is not so good as it looks to be.
There's one exception and that's a quest title. The reason? Exactly Because I was title chasing, I had no time to do all the quests yet.

/signed. Why wouldn't we want more titles to show of to people ?

Only if it doesn't count towards GWAMM!

I'd be fine with something like this as well.
What I don't understand is why all the folks are against adding additional titles? Not sure how this would effect much other than allowing folks other means/methods to increase their total titles.
The only couple reasons I could think of was that some of these folks have already achieved something like GWAMM and want others to go through the same process they did or that they could be title junkies and if a new one was implemented, they'd be powerless to stop themselves from obtaining it?
Granted it may not be the best title idea but I did think that having all the skills for every profession on one toon would be note worthy. Heck, displaying the title would mean you could at least put together any build for the occasion required whether it's PvP or PvE (this obviously would exclude equipment/armor)
Anywho, considering there isn't a lot of info available on GW2 and speculation that it may take upwards of 2010/11 for release, having anything new implemented into GW; regardless of what it is, would be positive (my thinking being that if they aren't going to be releasing tidbits of information on GW2 to pique interest, than they should continue to add some sort of new "minimal" content to GW to keep folks playing. This is of course excluding the recent comments about the live team, the plans for their update roll-outs and the suggested improvements/implimentation).

Trouble is, you can buy the skill packs and just go buy the skills. Yeah ok, its a huge gold sink but it would be another title that involves no skill (e.g. sweet and drunkard, the only skill being patience).
Its been suggested before but why not have a title for every quest done in the game, at least it shows you've played the game a bit.

The first title I have seen that deals with player skill!
/signed - but only if it does not count towards Favor or GWAMM. More options for people to display and more things for people to work on are always nice.

Money sink. Same as Zaishen but a lot of people don't like doing the Zaishen thing. This would cost less (tomes anyone?) in the long run, be much quicker, though it doesn't have a /rank involved. It can be done in stages as well.
