On odd occasions when i start gw I just get a black screen which constantly flickers back to windows & gw black screen again. This is a constant cycle
I can't alt & tab to windows or ctrl alt & del to end the gw process with task manager
Does this happen to anyone else? It's EXTREMELY ANNOYING because the only thing i can do is shut down the computer. Once I restart any windows that were open like firefox for instance have been resized to something stupid like 640x480.
Also GW opens in 800x600 instead of what it should be 1680x1050! What's the cause of this Anet?
Constant switching between GW & Windows

Looks to me like your graphics drivers need updating. What card are you using? And are the drivers current, or old.

Do you happen to get an error like: Display driver nvlddmkm has stopped responding and has been restored?
This has been happening to me on my new laptop. I used to get the black screen etc as well , but now it's even worse.. My graphics on GW go crazy, sometimes I can see some of the pictures that are in the .dat file.
Here's a site with solutions that worked for some people, but nothing worked for me

I'm using an 8800GTS 512 latest drivers and no error messages. It's just stuck in a loop switching between the desktop & a black screen about 2 or 3 times per second. I can leave it for ages... only a restart will fix it.

either a driver problem or a corrupted .dat file is my guess.... can you post some computer specs for us pls?

Is it possibly a background process trying to grab focus?

Alt F4 should still end the process, but that's not the point, eh.
Is everything normal most times then, when it does go wrong, ALL the above symptoms happen? I mean, when you start GW and this doesn't happen, is the resolution at the correct 1680x1050?
