How do you brawl in hardmode without constantly dying?

I get up to like 65 energy (with 2 buttons set to my skill 8 so I can hit it faster..). But, any more than that I don't think I could stand up fast enough.

Soo, how do you do it without dying so much?

In HM brawl, you have to use Killroy a lot more and let him tank some of the mobs. It also helps if you have all the brawling skills unlocked.

I don't know what they're talking about. In HM you get the extra skill, there is no brawling skills to get for actual brawling...

This might be a silly suggestion (I see you have 2 buttons mapped to get up), but are you clicking the mouse on the skill in conjunction with using both buttons? It won't help you from dying a lot, but it'll make it easier to recover.

When I had to do this HM i used an armor of salvation and a slice of pumpkin pie. Be sure to follow kilroy's targets. Gl.

Be sure to mod the brass knuckles if you can, it helps. Put armor buff insignias on your armor if needed. When I did it as an ele I used +10 vs physical insignias. The armor of slavation helps also.

Target with Kilroy. Change your key config to 3 or 4 standup keys. I use three 8,9, & 0. Pound on those 3 and you will surely get up everytime, add a fourth key - if needed. Lots of people do not use the block skill, but I used it extensively and it worked great for me, so don't under-estimate it. GL

I am doing it on my ele, all i have is +10 vs physical insignias. So im on 70 armour

I dont used armour consumables i cant afford anything scrolls take up a lot of my cash

The easiest way i found to do it is PAY ATTENTION. its quite easy and straight forward if you concentrate on whats going on! hit what kilroy hits until he dies. (until your in the main room first boss)

In the room/corridor before the first boss, try hang back so you dont aggro the four rangers part of their own group at the back. kill the ones closest to the entrance first (run back if need be) then kilroy will res and you can rush the four rangers easy without being knocked down once

As for the main room where you fight three at a time where they are all standing in a circle the idea is to try and fight two at a time. You do this by not going all the way in at the start, kilroy runs back anyway before rushing in. You aggro the first three and stay near the entrance, you fight them kilroy helps then dies and you kill all three enemy. As soon as they are dead, aggro the new centre two dwarfs and pull them back before the new third dwarf runs to the middle. Kill the two. Repeat. Let kilroy do his own thing when he res.

As for the first boss sometimes i run in with kilroy, kill one dwarf then run away. But the best way to do it is let kilroy die then pull them all and keep running up to the entrance and down the corridor while they chase. The 4 dwarfs and the boss always all split up and you fight the boss and the two groups of two all on their own

These are the tactics i always use and it works for me im never usually over 40 energy from knockdowns best ive done is one knockdown the whole run. I'm currently on 900 K Exp. I think its more to do with just concentrating and not switching off unless you like smashing your keyboard and mouse for energy, it might be a doddle with armour consumes though!

No cons should be needed, i leveled a legendary survivor there without any real hassle. Some points:

1) get the gold thunderfist gloves, mod them with 'Brawns over brains' +15%/-5, +7 vs physical, sundering if you want, costumize them if you want.
2) dont forget to go XX/A and set your dagger mastery attribute up
3) get the best armor vs. physical you can.

It has been a while, but this is how I think i did it (I did it with a ranger):

be smart with your skills. Dont use your skills just because you have the adrenaline ready. This is especially true with the the HM skill. Try to always have full adrenaline when you leave one encounter to the next.

- start the run, fire off your XP scroll, attack the first two dwarves on the right when Kilroy does. Finish them off and proceed with full adrenaline.

- run to the first door, put up block as you approach (time it so it blocks the first bow-shot), use your HM skill to immediately take down one dwarf, then the rest of the time focus on Kilroy's target, and try to leave the encounter with full adrenaline.

- enter the room, put up block for the first shot from the marksman, let the warriors run. Kill the marksman and the ettin. Here it is important to have full adrenaline for the next group.

- immediately take out one of the warriors with the HM skill, then focus on killroy's targeting and kill what he kills.

- the two wolves and dwarves are easy (take them 1 and 1), just focus damage with Kilroy and build adrenaline. Same goes for the guards before the tunnel/corridor. Try to have a full load of adrenaline when you enter the tunnel, and also, as Kilroy will most likely die, try to have his shout refreshed if possible.

- Enter the corridor and do your best - kill as fast as you can and be smart, dont 'waste' your HM skill on a dwarf with 5% health left,.. Use block as much as possible and focus your attacks with Kilroy. You might go down a few times here (and Kilroy will too), but you should be able to grind through them.

- The big room can be really quick or a long grind... The quick way is to have you tank and just keep hitting what Kilroy hits. His shout is very helpful, so the longer he stays alive, the better. if you get it right (i.e. get lucky), the enemies will attack you, and you might just pull through without a single knockdown. The time here should be around 10-15 mins. I have managed to have my 'kill a boss within 10 mins' XP scroll refresh on the boss on rare occasions.

All in all, a HM run should be around 15-18 mins. Good luck!

(disclaimer: I havent done this thing for several months, but I think my walkthrough is ok)

I had the same exact problem as you, kept dieing, i needed it for my book HM. What u can do si go 007 on the mobs and sneak past them. if u do it carefully, u can run past the mobs to the boss, the final room be4 the boss u got to be careful and find an open spot between the dwarfs. if u do it right, it tkaes about 2-3 deaths to get there, 2-3 deaths to kill him, your welcome

I have brawled a lot in Hard Mode with just about all different professions. Armor doesn't matter as much as you would think and while weapon mods are nice, the real benefit they have is small. Switching your secondary to assassin and maxing dagger mastery will increase damage by around 7, which is pretty nice. Here are my tips:

1. You can tank and Kilroy can't. Kilroy has health regeneration, but it's nothing compared to the +300 life you get for each kill. Try to let the enemies attack you and let Kilroy do additional damage. This is how you defeat the dozens of stone summits in the large room.

2. Try to charge all your skills before a big fight and then immediately kill an enemy with "Brawling Combo"->"Brawling Uppercut"->"Brawling Straight Right". The fight against Maghma and his four stone summits will be much easier if you can quickly take out one of them.

A brawl in HM usually takes around 10 minutes.

I found it's easiest to do on W/A (full strength and dagger mastery), I believe the knights and absorbtion rune worked.
Mod your brass knuckles with furious and +7 vs physical.
