It has been 4-5 years sense I've last played Guildwars and now a wish to continue playing again. So I went to the store and bought the trilogy along with the EotN expansion pack. While I did quit after playing factions for some time, two new expansion packs have came out. Also, I gave my account to my brother so I am no longer in control of any level capped characters. So I really just wanted a few questions answered about how I should go about starting again:
What starting area should I start in?
Are monks still the main healing class?
What secondary classes are good for healers?
Has PvP changed much sense Factions?
There wasn't much PvE to speak of when I played, how has that changed and to what extent?
If anyone can answer any of these questions please don't hesitate to post with as much detail as possible. Thank you for your time. : )

Tha Axod
guildwars excist for like 3years and 9 months
so i doubt you've stopped playing 4-5 years ago
i should start in nightfall, since you havent played that 1 yet
monk is still the main healing class, tho necros are also often used, except for pvp
2nd for healer depends on a lot of things, but u can change it at any given time, so there is no problem is you chose the wrong 1
i dont like pvp so i dont know if it changed, only that a lot of skills have been balanced (???)
PVE has changed big time, since the introduction of hard mode and vanquishes and a lot fo titles

Winterclaw
1. The one with the best look character for that class
2. For the most part, but going a healing/protection hybrid is the best option right now
3. Something with energy management. Like /el for GoLE
4. Yeah, there was power creep with NF and a bunch of nerfs and buffs. For example IWAY is dead.
5. There's less interaction with other plays now because of heroes.

Ok thanks and I was kinda guessing on how long I've been playing because I was pretty young but I did beta test for the game.

I think I installed EotN but when I began to create an new character, I was not able to choose EotN as a starting location. Is that normal?
Also, could someone briefly summarize the two new classes?

Yeah, its normal. EOtN isn't a stand alone campaign like the other 3, its more like an expansion to Prophecies. You can send a character there from any of the 3 campaigns.
Paragons use spears and have 80 armor like warriors. They can use a ton of shouts to benefit the party. They are stronger in parties with a lot of people. Dervish use a scythe to attack which can hit multiple targets when they swing. The have less armor than warriors and paragons, but they have all kinds of enchantments to keep em alive.

Your best option is to just start playing again like it was a new game, a lot of stuff has changed.

Ok teh answers:
1) Fix your time, its been like two years max since factions not 4-5 yrs lol :P
2) Yes Monks are primary healing class kinda...there are N/Rt too but those are used with heroes just coz they cant cope with energy well and abusing sould reaping is fun.
3) PvP is fuked pretty much but still fun.
4) PvE is fun heroes ftw but theres no longer alot of pugging goin around coz of that very easy to get loads of titles but as a monk you will have a hard time getting in elite mission pugs dominated primerely by shadowform Assassins.
5) Paragons are extremely powerful in pve with their imbagon build which basically makes your party invulnerable in pvp...havent seen them for some time but they are used, Dervs are absolutely utterly useless in PvE but are abused in PvP for their Wounding Strike skill.
Thats it, have fun.

Onc again, thanks for all the answers, you all have been a big help. I only have two more questions for you.
Are GvGs still a big part of the game?
What classes are in the most demand for PvP, PvE, and Overall?
