Effective Ettin build?

Is there an effective build to farm ettins? I can't seem to do well cuz they spam their one attack(I forget what it's called). When I do a good bit of damage they just heal themselves and I think they cast endure pain(might be getting confused with something else).

What weapon should I use? So far I was using an axe and tried killing them one at a time. But when I kill one the rest decide to come to the party and attack so I die in a few minutes. I have full drok's armor but somehow I still die.

maybe I just really suck at it. So if anyone can help that would be really appreciated.

You should be attacking 3 at a time. Because of their size you can use them to block eachother resulting in a 2v1 or if lucky 1v1 fight. You can use swords or axes doesn't matter but what's important is interupts. For axes you have an edge there with disrupting chop.

Personally I used to use axes but now I use swords and my current build is the following:
Sever Artery
Gash
Savage Slash [INTERUPT]
Distracting Blow [INTERUPT]
Healing Breeze
Healing Signet
Sprint
Mending

Mending isn't essential because healing breeze and healing signet are enought o keep you healed, you may want to replace it with an elite.

When you fight you will want to hit sever artery, disrupt their first healing signet, hit gash, disrupt their second healing signet then swing until they die.

I have 9 healing (will explain later), 11 sword, 11 strength, 9 tactics. I use 9 healing because instead of a shield I use the droknar's healing ankh (req 9, +45 hp (while enchanted), +5 def (while enchanted) +12 energy) This helps alot with energy management and gives you the 7 pip breakpoint for healing breeze.

For weapon I use a 15% damage while enchanted, 10/10 sundering (don't ask...you may want to replace with an elemental hilt since ettins have physical resistance), +20% damage vs giants and it is customized fellblade. Gives me a total of 55% extra damage vs ettins.

For runes I use all minors except for vigor/absorb. Because of this and the offhand item I get 575 hp and 39 energy with gladiators armor (best def vs physical attacks).

You can get an almost identical ankh from the collector in Mamoon Lagoon. Ten energy, +45, +5, but an 8 requirement.

better to get one more req in healing and 2 more energy. Because you need 9 in healing to reach the +7 breakpoint for healing breeze.

I never use breeze. Mending with 3 is just fine. Glads defense and Doylak are quite effective. Add Bonettis in there as well.

I dont like glads defence or bonetti's because the attack ettins use knock you down while in stance. So you need to add in the dolyak which takes up 3 whole skill slots. Since you never use breeze i'd assume thats server atery, gash and breeze?

IMO: 1 point in healing > being in stance 24/7 and being slowed 75%

My ettin build is this:

Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
100 Blades {E}
Healing Signet
Mending
Sprint

The damage you're carrying easily overpowers the ettins, and with practice and timing you can easily take groups of 4 or 5 at once. As soon as they use healing sig, use FT/GS/100 blades and bam, ettin burgers.

All you whammo's should try using ranger secondary for ettin farming.

Tigers fury destroys ettins with a quickness, axe skills of course.

Troll ungent

Troll ungent cant be shattered by tengu wilds either if u doing the run from bergen You should only have to use it 1x vs 3 ettins once u get the hang of it, and you stack them up right. And if your lucky enough to have all your adrenaline skills charged when u go up vs a fresh ettin....ettin is dead in a matter of seconds from the tigers fury spike with your adrenaline attacks....make sure you distract healing sigs, otherwise you are wasting time.

Regularly hit ettins for over 100 damage, try it.
