Asus EEE pc Help needed
Ranger of the abyss
I recently bought an Asus eee PC 900, the system runs on Linux Xandros. I have found out after a long search that there is a specific version of Wine used for the eee pc, i have also found out that guild wars can run fine through wine.
However, here comes my problem...Wine is installed fine, the version i am using is 1.0.0-1+eeepc2, this was from the source: deb http://updates.xepc.org/ p701 main.
Wine boots fine and i have the exe,dat and other file to run Gw fine, i even run wine in windowed mode and guild wars. each time i run guils wars though it closes itself after the loading bar finishes.
please help me
thanks in advance,
spen.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the EEE PC won't be able to handle the game at all. It's not meant to play games. Even if it were possible to run the game, the performance would be horrendous, like 1 FPS at minimum settings....

I have to agree, I got a free one of those and it had trouble handling some of the flash games I play form time to time hence the reason im going to be selling it on ebay soon.

and thats an older and less powerful version, i was amazed that something like this could run it...iv got it up on screen now working, even on low graphics is very slow iv got to mod alot of stuff to get it quicker i think. there are a few texture issues too but im not fussed about them.

...and at the resolution that the screen handles why would you want to run it?

I have a eeepc 1000h and I run GW and WOW on it. I am running XP, mind you and it is a higher end spec then the entry level versions. It isn't the fastest, but it is definatly playable!

I never would have thought that you could play games on those netbooks , im really amazed
Elder III
it's not so much "can you play games?" as " why would you [I]want[I] to play on a 10" screen?????" I struggle enough when I have to play on my laptops 17" screen instead of my desktop lol.

You got a point there People will have to buy scopes in order to see whats happening ingame lol
