After wasted a few days trying to get my vista to stop bluescreening, decided to give ubuntu a try. Will probably go back to windows in the long run for simplicity's sake, but for now i need a consistent computer for school.
I got guild wars downloaded and somewhat working. However, if i play a match or something, the screen will randomly start flashing and such. Anyone running guild wars on ubuntu that could give me some advice?
Thanks

Be sure to add -dx8 -noshaders to the shortcut that starts Guild Wars. Only flashing I've had is from when I zone , or if another program popups a message.

I tried that, it made the game more crisp and less choppy. However, when i enter battle, it still starts flashing. I also googled around, and found something to do with gw optimization in wine.
"Open winecfg and set the default to Win98. In Audio set ALSA Hardware Acceleration to Emulation and check Driver Emulation"
Did this, also improved it. but it seems to be exploding anyway.
