mini cows pets by 1PM

So, I've had a guy I've been watching all day in boardwalk getting my unlucky down to TRAGIC (124 to go).

I've seen two different celestial oxen since 1PM that have been there ALL DAY - how so quick, given they've been sitting there and are still there in boardwalk doing nothing?

Sure I know 1 in 300 - I also know how fast it is to farm (70-100/hour).

Are these guild bots? Or do the anet/ncsoft nubs like to stroke themselves with freebees?

Edit': I figure they're given out from the fortunes, but yeah 1 in 300... I haven't tried any yet, but still...

I believe the Celestial Oxen are given through the Lunar Bag thingies.
You are clearly thinking of masks that are given out every other time period

Or maybe they're just lucky.

And there's like 10+ of them in my ENG 16 dis atm.

I opened 500 of them shitty lunar bag things, at once, obtained through doing all the quests on 6 chars, and i got like 8k worth of gold, and a load of rockets and sparklers. Not one ox, on the other hand, my guild member opened 130 and got 7 ox's...Extreemly annoyed, specially coz she sold them all for 20k each ¬_¬ I want one, and don't get one, the people who don't want them, get them and sell them ¬_¬.

You don't get the mini by opening the Red Gift Bags according to the wiki, but by using the Lunar Fortunes. Is this information incorrect?

im not sure where the mini's can be obtained but i got mine through the lunar fortunes. opened 80 and got one. soooo yea.. im not sure if thats the only way you can get one. maybe the red gift bags also??

I'm pretty sure it's the lunar fortunes which give the mini pets.

I opened less than 50 bags I think and got 2 Oxes and I know of a few people who got a mini moo moo on their first fortune as well.

I opened 20 lunar fortunes and got an ox. One guildie has opened far far more without luck, another has two. It's all chance, and the more you open the more likely, statisticly to get one.

Certainly they seem to be more prolific than the pigs or rats of the last few years (but that might be my mis-remembering)

It's not bags, it's the lunar fortunes.

Don't worry though, they're cheaper than the bags and easier to get if you just farm the Dragon's Nest for tokens.

I opened about 670 fortunes and got 4 ox's.

The Lunar fortunes do give out the celestial oxes,the oxes are not very hard to get, but on the other hand they are not very easy to get.

I've opened at least 200 fortunes and not one ox. Shows my luck in Guild Wars.

I had 2,393 tokens left over from last year. Used them for lunar fortunes, got 5+ oxen in the first 15 minutes of the event. Pretty easy.

I opened 250 lunar fortunes and got 4 Celestial Oxes

I have opend/used approximately 500 Lunar Fortunes, and from that i got 4 Ox's on 4/5 characters that i have done the quests with.
Still got 2 characters left to do the quests to get some more Fortunes.
So i can relate to the point that it's not that hard to get one this year.

I opened about 35 and got an Mini Celestial Ox, all I did was 4 quests. Pretty easy, only took an hour.

been doing these in groups...first group of 40 odd...no ox, 2nd of 83 got 2, 3rd-30 some 0, 4th 33-0, 5th 68-2....seems I needed to have more than 60 of them to get one.
After that I went to bags for the party items as I need them more than a hear of cows (though I like the 4 I have gotten--thanks anet).

I had 501 fortunes. Got a lot of party items, gold, but not even one ox. Last festival I ended up getting around 4-5 rats though, so go figure. Not lucky this year on that I guess. heh

Well, FWIW - I heard they were selling for 50k each heh! Not that's I'd bother - the pet scene is a bit... uh, not useful for gameplay, for starters (and it's ugly)...
