First of all sorry for this stupid question.. ^^
I saw many good feedbacks about Guild Wars, so today I was looking in game.co.uk to buy a copy of this game. However as I never used to play this game I don't know which one I need to buy, I mean there are like:
Guildwars
Guildwars Factions
Guildwars Nightfall
Guildwars Eye of the North
Are these just an expansions or what? Which one of them is now live on servers?
Please help this noob to buy this game
Which one I need to buy?

Guild Wars(also called Prophecies), Factions and Nightfall are all stand-alone campaigns. Buying any of the three will allow you to play on their individual continents. They can also be linked together, to allow your characters to move around between the campaigns.
Eye of the North, however is an expansion and needs at least one of the above 3 titles before you can access it.
Check out this thread to help figure out which you wanna get.

I would advise just getting the trilogy pack as it is a good price and allows access to most all content, then just picking up Eye of the North for like 10 dollars.

Guildwars, The first game released, can be played as a stand alone game
Guildwars Factions, The second release, can be played as a stand alone game
Guildwars Nightfall, The third release, can be played as a stand alone game
Guildwars Eye of the North, Expansion, must have any one of the above to have access

Thank you guys for help.. So as far as I understand it is possible to merge all those games and play as one, and more games I merge more opportunities I will have in game?

Yes, you can have one character you create in Nightfall, and be able to play in Factions and Prophecies. The more games you have the more skills, armor, weapons etc. are available to you along with quests/missions.

Guild Wars Prophecies (Proph): mainly for the beginner, slow leveling, introduces first 6 professions (warrior, ranger, monk, mesmer, necro, elementalist).
GW Factions (Fac): fast leveling, harder than proph, adds two new professions (assassin and ritualist).
GW Nightfall (NF): medium leveling (although you can get get a ferry to level in other campaigns), adds two more professions (paragon and dervish).
GW Eye of the North (EotN, GW:EN): an expansion to proph.

In Europe, your best choice if you are going to buy all the games, is to purchase Guild Wars: The Complete Collection. This would give you all three campaigns and the EotN expansion for a lesser price.

I'd buy normal guildwars for a starter
