Heya guys.

I quit GW a lot of months ago because Anet decided to nerf Shadow Form. It was kind of ignorant of me, because I thought it was the end.

Well, anyway, I'm back, and I found this build:

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:A/..._Planes_Farmer

However, before I go venture into UW with this build, can anyone tell me, or gurantee me, that I -DO NOT- trigger the behemoths traps?
When Shadow Form was OP, it could be combined with Dash and that made it possible for you to just walk over the traps, ofcourse, if the enchantment ran out, you were toast, but still.

So, to sum it up:

Willl I die if I use Burning Speed instead of Dash?

In short, no. It will work, of course there will always be variables. If you use frigid b4 burning speed you should not have any issues, even if you happen to trigger a trap. However if you don't then you may die if you a on fire and happen to set off a trap. If you are that concerned about it then take dash instead of lava font, you don't really need it.

The perma sliver build also still works. Most people now take a set of zealous enchanting daggers and a zealous enchanting scythe when they perma farm. Use the daggers on single foes and the scythe on a group.

But wont my damage be output low? I wont mind spending a lot of time on runs, but taking out Lava Font will add half an hour, no?

Search the farm part of the forums, plenty of guides there on how to farm the UW and UW speed clear.

WHERE DO YOU THINK

W/

You really need zealous scythe/daggers to keep up energy and you have little to no down time to renew SF and it is more often. It needs more concentration and easier to die, but it is still very much possible, plus ectos are now 5.5k again.

To answer your question:

You can make it over traps with a 33% speed boost, if you do it perfectly, or close to it. Depends on the spawn really, if the behemoths are close together, the game may register as snagging on one of them as you go through for just a fraction of a second, and the traps go off. Happens now and then, if you arent running multiple superior runes, you can usually live if some traps trigger. Since burning speed is a bit faster, I think your chances of missing the trap would be close to using dash.

However, there is always a chance that a trap will expire just as you go over it (90 sec timer), and will catch you anyway. If you are unlucky and its a barbed trap, you'll trigger everything anyway. Pre clearing traps is the only way to avoid this, i never bothered.

For the record, I always used dash before the sf nerf, haven't bothered with it since.

Its not guaranteed. You can do it with a 25% boost and a decent spawn (i.e. no behemoth walls), I did it on a touch ranger the other day. When its a tight fit through, you can just run up and duck back immediately, the traps will trigger, then you run through.

With the toucher though, I just ran through....IAU and troll unguent means triggering traps won't kill you.

No. You should be ok. I say take out lava font because I believe it will cause scatter (AOE). When this happens you must regroup them back together so you can use burning speed on them again. It is a major waste of time regrouping them, so that's why I think its not worth taking lava font. Burning speed is more than enough to take them down quickly.
