Definitely signed, when it's implemented next to existing AB. I don't think it's gonna happen though.
Just don't implement ANY form of ladder, rank, title or whatever, GW has enough of that shit and we all know what it leads to (people flashing mooses in my face, 'seriuz business' title farmers, elitism, lame builds).

"Alliance Battles" refers to the Kurzik Alliance vs the luxon alliance (always has, always will). After all, the end result of ABs is which alliance (Kurzick or luxon) has control of the most territory.

i'd rather just be able to pick the two teams you go in with for more organized ab, so instead of having 3 mates that don't suck and 8 random people on your side you could do an epic organized 12v12 battle.
Throwing in ranks and ratings for something as unawesome as the current AB system is a waste of time and effort.

luxon side is srs bsns, make a carefully balanced group with monks organized on vent. hell, for ab that's pretty organized. ridiculous, but organized.

Daily and Monthly tournaments to transform AB much like the Snowball ATs did for Snowball would be cool.
Ranks and ratings might be okay, and faction rewards could be boosted a little bit too, but I certainly wouldn't want to see any new rewards coming out for this, like an emote being released for the Kurzick/Luxon track post-implementation of a tournament. Also, I'd much rather see the NPCs health/energy/bar/etc stay the same.
Also, if you decide to go with a ranking system, I'm not sure who should be holding the rankings: individual guilds, the alliance leader, or the whole alliance.

AB is 12-v-12. To make it like GvG, you would need to have at least 6 people from the same alliance present. Since you can only form up with 4 on a team, and hope for 2 other teams for your 12, that won't happen without a change in how you make teams for a match. Finding 12 people is not terribly easy, even when there are large numbers of people present.
Alliances already have 'ranks'. It is called Faction. The alliances that have the most own towns. And the towns that are owned are based on who has the most. So if you want a gold trim cape, be the best GvG team. If you want Cavalon/House Zu Heltzer, be the best alliance at gaining Faction.

i'm all for having a competitive form of AB but there's no need to take away the current version of it to implement one.

Screw that, I enjoyed AB the most when it was 12v12 random during the preview, like a gigantic version of RA. We have two serious PvP areas; leave AB alone as the jokey arena it is. It is one of the best (read: least boring) ways of getting K/L points, which PvE chars care most about, and changing it to "serious" PvP would kill that.

I do like the kurzick side more due to the fact that most of them are there just to have fun.
And i too like AB the way it is. So sorry but /notsigned mainly because the fact that its unorganised is the fact thats keeping it fun.

More organized? Voted no on that. You want organization then go do real GvG, HA or TA. As it is, AB is starting to get build picky like those aforementioned. When I AB I like to go in and relax while cuttin' down some real peeps. All in fun for me.

Don't change how the current AB system works, it's fine. But a more organized version with more srs rewards would be awesome. I'd really love to play it in a fully organized 12man team instead of having to play with clueless randoms, but this format should stay as it is for many reasons. The organized version would have to be separate.

Reward (at least) triple faction for players (double faction during this x2 weekend is comparable to normal FA/JQ gains, so for rare special and competetive matches it would have to be higher) and additional bonus faction going straight to the winning Alliance pool. And those battles should have more effect on the moving border than the randoms. That's how I hoped Alliance Battles would look like when first advertised and was initially disappointed.

I personally find AB boring as hell.
In a GOOD group all you do is cap shrines and occasionally kill a player.
If AB is to change I'd rather see it be actual PvP where you have to kill each other and take out shrines all together.
Should definitely keep the whole Kurz/Lux is more fun , better to play or Kurz/Luxon Mob(guess what they both do) out of topic imo because that will go no where. I myself find it more organized on Kurz side but others find it more on Lux so that argument can not be won.

Get rid of shrines and make it a gigantic death match or don't award points based on shrines capped, just certain boosts (Such as battle cry, etc.).
Lower the score once its turned into a death match or award more point per kill.
Or at least add some new maps into the rotation to mess around with.

Getting 12 people that you know to play is going to be complete hell. Getting any less than that would basically put you as a disadvantage, so this format is going to be played as much as TA, whereas normal AB would be played as much as RA.

This would have been good at the release of Factions, but it would barely work now. Getting a team of 12 players would be a pain in the ass. Then finding an enemy alliance to fight would take forever. Not worth it anymore.

OP: I - seriously doubt you'd find enough people for this to work, usually because of the imbalances in numbers during the different maps.
