does illusionary weaponry work with bows? and if it does what happens with a skill like double shot or even barrage?(i know u cant have 2 elites but there is a skill that borrows an elite from an ally so you could copy it from some one else)
i would test this myself but i dont have a mes or ranger

For 30 seconds, you deal no damage in melee, but whenever you attack in melee, target foe takes 8...34 damage.
Bows=/=melee, so IW doesn't work with bows.

IW also puts you in a place you don't want to be melee, it is one of those skills that looks good on paper but just doesn't work in practice (at least in PvE).
If you decide to go with IW though the axe skill cyclone axe works best, and a NF axe with +5 energy and a 20% enchantment handle are cheap.

I've only seen IW work when there are multiple members of a team using that skill with similar builds. That is through my experience, though. I might try Markaedw's idea.

Cyclone axe will actually spike the target you have targeted.
Read better:

Cyclone Axe will attack adjacent targets, because that's what it does. You perform an attack on all adjacent targets, so IW hits them.

Best advantage of IW is that nothing prevents the damage. Yuo can be blind and the opponents blocking, but you still deal the damage. Downfall is that it is an enchantment that can be removed. Meet someone who removes your IW and you have meager damage output until it recharges. Advantage is that you ignore 'on hit' requirements. So skills like Flurry that reduce each "hit"'s damage won't matter, and skills like Feigned Neutrality and Dark Escape won't end while you are attacking.

i was bored and wanted a challenge so i was gona try this: 3 IW me/d to do the dmgm then 3 bonders one for each IW mesmer.
2 healing monks one with a basic healing build and spell breaker to cast on one IW mesmer and the other with spell breaker and arcane echo to cast spell breaker on the other 2 and try to farm the UW with this.
i want to try this mainly cause im bored. and with this aslong as you have 3 people you can just use heroes.
main reason i was wondering about IW though was because a friend said its a fun build so thought i might try might do some pvp with him aswell because before in RA our entire team has been obliterated by a me/w using IW and 1 healing him. we managed to kill the rest of theyre team though
