Hi, with the change to Signet ofghostly might, would you guys consider running spirit spammers in HM? The IAS and extra dmg seem worth it and I believe it could work with some microing.

So something like: Sig of ghostly might, Pain, Anguish, Disenchantment, Dissonance, PB, Essense strike or Spirit Siphon,

Is it worth it to say, swap out a curses necro? Also, spirits have energy but ranged attacks don't cost anything right?

Spirit spam without [[Summon Spirits] = phail
In general, spirit spam period = fun but more often than not phail

Where are your heroes going to get the energy to run Anguish, Disenchantment, and Dissonance all at once? Also, since they don't have Summon Spirits, the entire mob should be dead by the time you get done getting all of these 5 second buggers up.

I presume you're talking about [Signet of Ghostly Might] rather than [Signet of Spirits].

In any way, no. I wouldn't.

1. Spiritspammers lack mobility (especially on heroes)
2. Spiritspammers take too long to set everything up (3 +3 +5 +5 +1 second [17 seconds])
3. Spirits are too fragile. One or two swoops and they're dead.
4. Several of the spirits you named have both a very high e-cost (25) and a long recharge (45), making the skillbar useless 70% of the time.

A curse necro is far more mobile, supplies armor-ignoring damage and utility, is quicker and has terrific energy management.

Nah...
As said before, they lack [summon spirits], therefor making them useless. And even more useless if they aren't microed.
Which is too bad, because spirits are really fun to use. I guess that's a reason to become ritualist

I just finished vanquishing cantha with my rit last night, and the majority of the forest and the city i used this build:

[skill]Bloodsong[/skill][skill]Pain[/skill][skill]Vampirism[/skill][skill]Anguish[/skill][skill]Shadowsong[/skill][skill]Signet of Ghostly Might[/skill][skill]Painful Bond[/skill][skill]Summon Spirits (Luxon)[/skill]

Now i ran this as opposed to a hero running it. It worked pretty well except vs larger groups of mesmers, or mesmer bosses with [skill]Unnatural Signet[/skill]
Also I had Eve with me most of the way so she used [skill] Blood Ritual [/skill] so I didn't have an energy problem.

its pretty close to a build for soloing basses and the bison tourney, with [skill]Signet of Ghostly Might[/skill] instead of [skill]Wanderlust[/skill]. It does do a fair amount of damage. Take it out to the master of damage on the battle isles.

I don't know how well a hero would handle it. It kind of like trapping, you have to place them in the right place and pull your target into them.
