How to kill watchtower guard in riverside prov mish?
kazi_saki
How the hell do you kill them? I've done this mish several times already before but It was really annoying finding the right spot just to attack those bastards.
Even with a clear line of sight, bows are obstructed. Melee weapons are almost useless. Can you only do the bonus of this properly with an ele?

Jumping Is Uselss
What build are you running?
I've always found that if melee characters go right up to the door of each tower they can hit the targets on the tower.

Spells are your friend, bring a Nuker.

Ele, curses necro, smiting monk, dom mesmer, channeling rit. All you need is one caster that can do significant single-target or AoE damage without line-of-sight. That isn't a hard criterion to meet, unless you're bound and determined to run a full team of nothing but physicals.

haha. thanx thanx peeps. I was just looking for alternatives for when I do run this:

Jumping Is Uselss is correct, just go up to the door (or edge of the tower at ground level) right where the guard is. Just like above/below a bridge, GW doesn't really understand height

Yup. I also noticed that it is easier to kill them when I equipped sword with my ranger than trying to get them with the bow....

You can kill them with a bow (longbow or flatbow), but it does take a bit of futzing around to find the exact spot.

Pocket Assassin (if you've got eotn).

Snograt
Probably, BrettM - as it's also possible to get yourself trapped up there.
I did this a couple of years ago - standing at the base of the tower, smacking away at the guard with my Victo's-equipped wammo, when suddenly I was up there with him. Nobody in the PUG had brought [[rebirth] so I was stuck up there until they finally finished the mission.
Moral of the story: If you do this mission H/H, take a vamp weapon and a Hero with Rebirth!

Only times I have seen people get stuck on the towers was the people who used [consume corpse] or [necrotic traversal]. Unless more White Mantle are nearby, or a Lynx is around, they can't get back down.

Raven Wing
A ranger can also lay traps at the foot of the tower, they guard up there will trigger them and eventually die.
Shadowhaze
Casters can be quite useful there. That and the sin summon skill among other things. Sometimes you can find a spot in the door of the tower too (like someone mentioned) where you'll be able to attack them.
