I'm about to purchase a Dell Precision T3400. Has anyone had any experience playing with the video card below?
Dual 256MB PCIe x16 nVidia NVS 290, Dual Monitor DVI Capable
The description doesn't mention Quadro, but it still is a Quadro NVS 290? Do you think this video card will still be supported by Guild Wars 2?
My goal is to build the best machine that can be loaded with both Vista & OS x86 and still be able to play Guild Wars now and in the future. Thank you!
nVidia NVS 290

Yes, that card is fine. It isn't the best card in the universe, but it will work. However, we don't know GW2 stats, so that is hard to say.

Yes, with a desktop pc, my suggestion would be to go with the card one or two steps below the top (unless you have money to burn). Then, when your not getting the frame rates you need down the road, again buy the card that is down from the current top then, that way you're getting two cards for less than the price of the one top card. And that top card is only gonna give you bragging rights for a few months anyway.
Now if you were getting a laptop, it'd be best cpu, best video, biggest screen, skimp on ram, audio and hd space because they can be upgraded later.

Thank you both! It is a desktop machine, sorry to not mention that. I switched from the dell precision config to a dell xps 630 with a geforce 9800 gt 512mb. I hope that will last for a while. I appreciate your assistance.

the 9800 gt will be adequate for just about any game at high (not always max on newer titles) settings and resolutions, with the exception of Crysis (which it will play, just not as many FPS as you might wish, but still a enjoyable experience).
