Get RID of the /Report System and Dishonor System

It's fail! Too many jerks trusted by anet to report and automatedly punish others for crap is EPIC! Guild Wars is going to SH** because of false reportings as well as the Dishonorable Combatant System.

Also, Botters in Random Arenas have been botting there now for about a few months now (unscathed). This sh** NEEDS TO STOP! Anet, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BULL****! Stop not-caring and do the right thing for a change! Stop being lazy, leaving justice to malicious children and automated punishments! It's driving me INSANE! I love Guild Wars; been playing it for about 3 years solid and I'm crying on the inside about how much ya'll have DESTROYED the game with all these CRAP changes!

Call me a liar, but I've never seen the /report system abused. In fact, I like it, no more joining a RA just to see people leave 5 seconds later when they discover they have no healer to carry them. Or the people in AB that leave as soon as the Luxons get ahead of us, it's sad that people gave up so quickly to begin with. I'd also prefer they spend their time trying to get rid of syncing in RA, people should be in TA if they want to group together.

Also, botters in RA? I've seen some bad people in RA, but I sincerely doubt they were bots.

actually RedNova, im sorry to say it is abused terribly. Though it has never been used on my there are many many complaints coming from people getting banned temprarily because some greifer who lost a PvP game reported you for a name that really wasnt bad at all. Overall is is more trouble than it is worth but it should not be removed, just the offensive name one and the report for bad language (the filter is there for a reason).

And for leeching. I report botters and I get spiteful malicious players reporting me for leeching and they turn right around and tell me they dont care about botters.. Is that fair to me (and the many others that care enough to rid RA of botters)?

I've even been screen-shotting and compiling player's reactions to me and their reporting me. I plan to send them to Anet to prove to them that /report system is waaay too abusable.. It's giving jerks the power to put you in timeout, temp-ban you, etc.! and it's just LAZY! It's telling me that Anet has officially given up on taking care of in-game justice and have turned it over to KIDS to handle each other.. What GIVES?!?!

Ima gonna have to stick with the report system.

and wat about the leechers go into fort aspin wood in the evening and watch u will have 2-3 leechers every run on the luxon side. if u report them for leeching u get a dishonerable. that does not seem fair to me. im getting punished for doing the right thing. i get dis like every time i do fort aspen wood cause of this. i completly gave up on it and i dont do any pvp anymore. sad cause thats wat i started this game for

I am with you on this. Rufai, Frozen and Prot seem to have been botting since I started RA'ing again. I've been reporting, and it's usually a mix thing.
1. Everyone joins and says this person is a bot, please report. Everyone reports. Yesterday's game, we all just stood idle until everyone said they reported the person, the team that had the botter then let us kill them.
2. I accuse one being a bot, I get the malicious msgs saying they don't care and that they play better than your average player. It's ironic because most people in (1) reported the botter because it was actually a horrible teammate.

Bottom line, Rufai for example has been reported over a month now, nothing has been done. The /report is bs, no one checks it anymore. You would think after receiving hundreds, maybe thousands of reports of botting concerning one person, that Anet would take that as evidence and ban the account. It's really not difficult to do.

Anyway, I am not bothered by it so much anymore, it's always great when you find a decent team and bump into these bots, it's essentially a win right there.

edit: Though I agree with you on the botting situation, I don't agree that we should get rid of the /report or dishonor system. It's just a step back. /report is a good idea, it's just not being used, but the function itself is useful.

Well thats the whole problem. If you somehow manage to report someone and get your team to do it they get a 10 minute break. Now if you manage to beat someone/annoy them somehow they can report you and you get a 3 day ban. Most people know now that Anet doesn't check who they are banning.

I thought the report system only rewarded you with Dishonorable and Name Changes.

I didn't know it affected banning.

In which case, I'll sign the "don't let /report ban you" but I don't think DH should go away.

In all seriousness tho.. if your getting this worked up over a game, you should probably take 10 mins off anyway. Yes, its not fair, but that's life. I don't intend to sound cold, but there really is nothing we can do, save QQ and complain to Anet a bazillion for 3 years until they notice somethings wrong, and if you want to do that, by all means go ahead, but I have better things do to.

You've never seen half a team of HAers get banned for little petty offenses after beating a PvE smiteway fame farm team and rubbing it in.

You've never seen a third of a team get dishonorable due to lack of reports.

The whole system basically abuses itself.

Real players care more about 10 minutes of afk than leechers who aren't playing anyway.

Seriously...seriously that's the best you can do? If you won't do it yourself don't automate it at all slackers.

I work at a store and 8 year olds run around yelling worse than what people have been banned for and this games rated 13+ so wow...let's watch more carebears please?

That's like going into a store being told you have to whisper because it's their rule and you have to spend at least 8 minutes shopping per isle otherwise you can't leave early. I know it's their game and their rules but what their spending their time and energy making and devoting things to is petty. Why stop people from getting a honored title like champion for 10k a point syncing when you can stop people from leaving early in RA....yes...that's whats wrong with the game.

This shit again. Hey look... a thread about the EXACT SAME RANT made by the EXACT SAME POSTER made less then 3 weeks ago.

I'm not going to bother wasting guru's server space by repeating my arguments against your idea again. If you don't want to even acknowledge the other sides arguments in the other thread about how the dishonor system brought several good changes to RA, I'm not going to keep making them.

I don't agree that both systems should be removed entirely, but I will say that I think that their existence has now gotten to a point where they don't really help much more than they hurt.

Dishonor, at least, needs an overhaul.

It may be bad now, but RA was basically unplayable before dishonor. Every bloody match, you had to cross your fingers that no one on your team (or, really, the other team) left. And quite honestly, anyone claiming that leechers are worse now than they were before the /report system is just lying, because, again, FA/JQ were basically unplayable with the amount of leechers we had. Yeah, you still get 1-3 a game now, but that's far removed from, "Oh nice, we only got two leechers, cool!"

i will admit the system as it is now is horabad. just the other day i was in jq or should i say Bot Quarry and i was playing for the luxons and we lost why because i was the only real person on the team. i reported everyone on my team and ranked them. after we lost 10 0 none of them had dishonor i did so GG anet or as i have come to call them Failnet. i made a sport ticket and they said "sorry the system is imperfect and its better then having no system at all....." yea that true but why dont you stop banning people for inappropriate language because everyone can handle that and start banning people for botting and leaching because there crime is FAR worse then some one saying something officencive.

And I totaly agree with the dishonar system.

Idea when reporting a person for botting. He will get a random multiurchoice question(very easy, simple math?) that he has answer correct, Bot's can't awnser questions.

i suck @ math j/k, i think its possible to program bots that are able to read out the chatlog (as u said, it`d be only simple math) & answer them ... but, im not sure

edit; it`d be also a shitload of work to programm these random multiperchoice questions, now think about, when was the last time anet spent a lot of time in anything....
