Ancient I'm not fond of..male or female. 15k sunspear is the only one I really like for monks, and thats FEMALE only. Personally I think the guys armors for nightfall are all pretty bad =P IMO of course. Since my monk is my offical fav char now, and my most skilled I'm hopeing for some nice new armors next game! =D

And the monk Ancient armor is great, looks a bit more "buff", thats why i use mine as "judges" set , +10 vs physical

i was bored and decided to craft new armor for my monky - pics of vabbian armor on wiki r rather small, and i never met any monks wearing it in-game so i get it for Chevette:
crafting gloves was a waste - its the smallest braselets possible, they look dull and rusty compared to even 1k sunspear and on top of that some torn cloth catch underneath them.... i salvaged 2 jems back tho, so it was ok. i wanted to dye the armor gold or pink but i wasnt able to get pink mix i like and gold made fine details disappear, so i opted for black. i'm glad i got this armor and i rly like the combo - vabbian top+leggins with 15k sunspear bracelets (<3 them) and some minimalistic sandals from K.center dyed gold. this set got such a fine details, i'm going to post some closeup pics later, imho it looks better than ancient set.

IMO the Vabbian gloves and sandals are only a waste if you don't intend to color them. The fabric of this armor picks up lovely jewel tones from basic dyes, and color on the hands and feet can tie the outfit together nicely.
However, grayscale tones are available in all the bracelet-type gloves, so having black or white cloth accents doesn't do as much. In this case I agree with Y.T.
At the end of the day you have to go with what you think looks best - no one else will spend nearly as much time looking at your character.
